A better question would be: would a tablet entry in the AoE series be financially viable? Given how payment-averse mobile/tablet owners are, I'm not so sure.
And I doubt anyone wants to go down the micropurchase road again!
I only say "port" because what else is there to say other than...... make an iOS versi-
......... ♥♥♥♥
*Edit* Oh and who says you need micro-transactions?
However, given that there are no plans to port AoEII: HD to the Mac at this moment, I see no reason for them to pursue an iPad version until they can develop both simultaneously.
You don't need them, but it is one payment model.
If we assume no microtransactions then the logical follow-up question is:
how much would you pay for a tablet iteration of the AoE series?
Considering how much people are whinging here about $20 for the PC remake, and considering the average costs of mobile/tablet software, I don't think it would be financially viable.
But you're welcome to program your own AoE tablet clone and sell it for $25 to prove me wrong ;-)
xD
11.
No one would buy it for $20......
Too many people would buy it for $10.....
WAIT.
WAIT WAIT WAIT..................
You reminded me....
My wish still can come true... possibly.... that Nvidia shield.... with the Steam interconnectivity and game streaming.... But there are hardly any details on the software, etc. and who knows if a "tap" on the touch screen will constitute as a mouse click....
:D
I-pads can get a little keyboard, then the problem comes in with camera controls. Selling an additional device for camera controls would suck for people who'd want to play this on an I-pad.
