Civilizations Tier list?
Can someone give me an idea about the power & weakness of the different factions please?

This is what I heard & saw online on reddit:

- TOP TIER -
Mayans (quite versatile civ)
Mongols (2nd most versatile civ after Celts, no big weakness)
Huns (Strongest rush, Top Feudal/ Castle)

- HIGH TIER -
Celts (Most versatile civilization in the game, strong all around)
Magyars
Slavs
Persians (Strong early game, Phenomenal Imperial + civilization)

- MID+ TIER -
Byzantine (most complete civilization with no weakness yet no overpowered trait)

- MID TIER -
Teutons (Elite Teutonic Knight hits hard but are easily countered by ranged, strong defense)
Goths (One of the strongest feudal / Rush, lacking however in every other age)
Brits (Ranged Archers powerhouse yet not shining in any aspect)

- LOW TIER -
Incas
Indians
Italians
Spanish

- HORRIBLE TIER -
Saracens (till imperial, then TOP TIER)
Koreans (till imperial, then TOP TIER)

Your opinion?

EDIT: Remade Tier

depends also on the map you are playing

Most standard rules & map (arabia for example: empathizing on strong rush / castle civilizations).
It's really not that simple. It's all about skill level, matchups, and individual strategies. A great player can beat a not so good player with any civ on any map.

You're talking Forgotten?

On a water map, Vikings are best civ hands down.

On Arabia, Mayans are probably the best civ. In the Conquerors, most pros see it as #1 Aztecs, #2 Mayans, #3 Huns on arabia. Aztecs got nerfed a little bit in Forgotten, so I'm not sure they'd still be #1 there. Huns also lost some of their discount on CA's in Forgotten, while I don't think they nerfed Mayans at all.

I dunno. Aztecs might still be seen as the best Arabia civ in Forgotten. Instead of free loom they get +50 gold, so if they delayed loom they could make 7-8 militia for a drush and really go to town.

I'd probably say something like this --
First tier -- Aztecs, Mayans
Second tier -- Huns, Mongols
Third tier -- Celts, Britons

Plumbs are actually more costly, I think its like 5 or 10 gold or something like that, maybe even wood, you can check that out

And this is why this list is based on equally skilled players. And even with different skill levels some civs are still better than others.

I wonder you consinder the Incas to be that strong. Is there a special strategy with them, I don't know? I I myself would consider the Magyars as the best Forgotten civ.

Everyone can enjoy a different civ. U said turks are the worst, it's probably the best civ for me with mongols chinese & huns. ;)

its hard to get good mixed turk army with their really bad early game. Maybe on map like Dark Forrest or how is it called.

Yes, castle age is horrible, no pikes/skirmisher.

No way Brits are the 6th best civilization.

Brits are tied with Japanese for 2nd fastest civs after Mongols. They eat sheep as fast as they eat boar. This makes them a good drush, flush, scrush civ. The current meta on 1v1 Arabia is massed x-bows in Castle Age (CA's if Hun), which they're obviously good at with +1 range and fast archeries. They've also got the cheap TCs to get their boom going.

The only thing that's bad about Brits is that they don't match up well against Mayans.

Persians are better than Brits imo, esp. if you can reach Imperial.

PS: I'm speaking about the Forgotten Empire dlc btw - Which tries to balance the joke that are Aztec/ Hun in AoC, and really Up the franks so that they are mid tier back from the worst civ.

I also don't get why top players (Daut / Theviper) do not touch AoF as it is the better game gameplaywise, but hey I guess spaming huns game on arabia is fun...
