What maps have no water at all? - Other than a few small lakes....

I'm playing the AI and whenever there is some water on a map (Scandinavia etc) they always almost neglect land based units and amass an enormous navy - so then I just avoid the water, take their base, and win - pretty boring....

What maps have little to no water?

Only standard maps where u can be sure there is no water AT ALL are Arena and Mongolia.

Black Forest usually also has only a couple tiny lakes. Same with Arabia.

Oh tiny puddles definitely won't make the AI think that it's a mixed (land+water) map.
So if you really want to play a full land map then stuff like black forest (only small puddles) etc all work.

Anything under the "random land map" section is a land map. The AI also doesn't seem to make a real navy on Rivers or Highland.

Reminds me of that game when my friend thought he was soooo good taking over the ocean and destroying all my cheap wood buildings on the coast. All I had to do was move inland, then I went and wrecked his base.

I did and got Scandinavia, and they just massed a huge navy and nothing more.

I just did a 2vs2 AI testgame on Scandinavia where noone ever built a dock. I also didn't see a boat spam on Scandinavia etc before. o:

I just did another on Scandinavia 3v3 AI (1 Conqueror/ 2 Regular) on Hard, 20 min treaty, and they did it again. Made a few land units and an insane amount of ships.
And the water in that map is spread on each side (no link) so all their warships were useless because they cant go anywhere....

I'll take screenshots next time.

"Print screen" button on Windows (afterwards paste into MS Paint then save), shift+cmd+3 on Mac (file appears on desktop), dunno on Linux.
