DLC Sale?

Anyone know why the DLC for this version of the game no longer goes on sale?

Because it's obsolete.
DE is the new version, so it makes sense they would want to push that one instead of this one

They would prefer everyone buys the new edition now so they are unlikely to be discounting this edition + DLC for it again.

At least they haven't de-listed it from the store page and people can still buy it unlike many developers out there.

Because the DLC content of HD Edition is part of the base game of Definitive Edition so instead of buying the HD DLCs separately, you just buy DE and get all the previous content in one version.

If you plan to buy DE during this sale, I'd recomment doing it through this bundle as you get an additional 25 % discount on top of the existing one:

That's something I don't understand as awell. Imo HD + all DLCs should be bundled with your DE purchase

DE is a different ganme... Whatever DE has in the base game is different from HD... But obviously they want the new kids to buy the NEW game.

However if you start playing MP in HD soon any price becomes rather small compared to hours played. If not just buy the base game and play the endless stuff in the workshop in single player.

There is more stuff, than you can immagine.

By the way, now I see all HD expensions on sale... Maybe the threadstarter òverlook this, or they put it on sale after he checked...

HD did not change the balance of AoC... It did not change the maps.

DE has a totally different balance form the AOE 2 (AOC and H:)... DE has departed from AOE 2 with the matchmaking (both AOE 2 games AOC and HD share)...

DE wants to be Esport - which did not exist when AOC was created...
It is a different game with a different philosiphy... The one dimensional Kids game version...

OP created the thread in November when HD indeed wasn't on sale.

Well yea, because the 1.0c balance is still available as a separate option but no one really plays with AoC balance anymore ;)

HD changed some maps as sheep spawns on maps spawn now closer to the starting TC. HD also brought some new, rather aggresive maps like Socotra or Acropolis.

DE's balance is just a continuation of the HD balance. I find that constant complaining about matchmaking somewhat amusing.

Kids game? I didn't know a game where the average player is 30+ years old is a kids game, but you're obviously the enlighted one here ;) As you're also German, I guess you know the definition of the word "Totschlagargument" in regard of claiming a game is made to cater kids.

Yeah, I noticed and snapped them up earlier in the sale, along with the definite edition 🙂 I can only assume someone at MS saw this thread and took the necessary action. Either way, it was much appreciated 😅
