What gamespeed should i play in aoe2hd?

I'am playing right now on normal speed and i have just started to learn the game (basically i have just strted mastering dark age 22pop tactic on arabia :) ) What speed you guys play ? And if i am playing on normal speed what is good time to be at feaudal? Sry for my english it's not my language ;)

Normal speed is best for a game to play as intended. On fast speed, it becomes much harder to micro, which makes early rushing much harder and promotes late game combat.

Most people play on normal speed anyways. So if you plan to play online start with normal.

22 pop with minimal TC idle time should give you a 10:30ish feudal. The game speed does not affect your age-up times (the ingame clock changes speed accordingly), except that playing on faster settings makes you more liable to mess up and have idle time.

I usually play on fast gamespeed. I find normal gamespeed a bit too slow. A game of an hour actually only takes half an hour on fast speed :) .

The time displayed when you press F11 follows slow gamespeed (1.0). On normal gamespeed this is 1.5 times as fast as the real time (so 1 hour ingame is 40 minutes real time). On fast it's 2.0 (1 hour ingame is 30 minutes real time).

You should play normal. In most games you'll be wishing to have more time to micro everything anyways!

Go normal, the game is ballanced around it. With fast speed and a bit of lagg, siege onagers and long ranged archers become godlike because they require little to no micro to be 100% effective. Even better, you can't dodge onager shots unless you anticipate them a full 10 seconds in advance.
