How to fix the Feitoria
I play the portuguese the most, but the feitoria doesn´t fit in AOE2 imo (no other civ has the generating resources feature). Take away the free resources per second and the pop space. Let it give the player 15% (this number can change after testing) more resources from gathering villages/carts/ships. This bonus does not increase if you have more than one feitoria. Finally, this building can be a part of their team bonus, so everyone on the portuguese team can build one - or more if for some reason they want to - for themselves.

Pantera 2016 年 9 月 5 日 上午 3:22
I told the HD devs it is the best to remove the Feitoria from the game but they wont listen.

Trade Workshop would be fine - for every civ.

Actually i think that the devs should make use for trade workshops. For example, they could give tecnhologies to improve trading/units or even buy mercenary units!

Looking at SOTL's video on the Feitoria, I'd say it's nicely balanced now. Good at the end of a 1-vs-1, but in team games, not really good except for stone.

first: thats just some maths which is also not including all variables, it performs different in the game, feitoria enables you to spam infinte bombard towers and is completly broken in the game, especially on higher pop maps.
second: SOTL is just a ~1700 noob.

1) Maths is maths. Yes there are variables, but except for the stone, they're worse than using that 20 population on say, trade carts. As for infinite towers, each Feitoria gives you a Bombard Tower's worth of cost (plus a little extra gold) every 5½ minutes or so. The thing is though, Portuguese Bombard Towers don't get any range bonuses, so they're out-ranged by Trebuchets and Bombard Cannons of land and Cannon Galleons at sea.
2) And that makes how much difference? You're the only person here above level 3.

how often did you play with or against the portugese? you have 50 hours played and just 1 achievement. Im safe to say you have no ingame experience with them at all.
When i first have seen the feitoria vid i also thought they are harmless because the vid makes it sound like that but its completly different ingame. Especially without the ingame experience such vids are dangerous since you get easier influenced, there are also vids out there which want to make you believe the earth is flat, you need to learn to not get influenced by that so easy.
By the way the devs already know that the feitoria is broken and they will nerf it.

In my opinion, feitorias should be a technology and not a building. Portuguese have overpowered ships and due to this carracks technology should be removed. Instead of carracks, a technology called feitorias should be created.

Feitorias (250 w, 250 g) - Portuguese unique technology at castle age.
Markets have 2x hit points and generate resources over time. *

* The generation rate would be 1 gold, 1 wood, 1 food and 1 stone every 3 seconds. It's not cummulative, which means if you have 10 markets, you'll still generate the same resources that one market generates.

You Pro players should help us noobs becomes more skilled with the game, not by telling us that this guy,and this guy,and this guy is a noob.
Spirit Of The Law is one of my favorite AOE2 Youtuber, not because he's a Pro player/a Math Teacher,it's because he's trying to teach new players how to be good at the game, and the civ they're using, and at least know the outside of the skin of a civilization and technology, before going in to the inside of the civ true tactics.

but Feitoria is quite broken if you see the Stone Reproduction, and if you're trying to use the stone for defence, and build a wonder, you might win the game as a kitten.
I almost never build Feitoria as portuguese,I only build 4,which is equal as 80 pop.

Don't lose your time with pantera; I've seen some posts from him and he's just an internet troller. He doesn't want to talk about a game, just to call the others by "noob". If anyone says something he doesn't agree, then this one is a noob.

Back to the topic: I've watched spirit of the law' video about feitoria too and I felt kinda confused, because feitoria works better than a monastery with relics inside: With a feitoria you can have enough resources to build a lot of towers, castles and many military units to protect the Feitoria and to attack the enemies.
Pantera 2016 年 9 月 18 日 上午 10:13
oh now im a troller because i called you noob. You suggested to buff the knight line, which is already the strongest in the game :steamfacepalm:

By the way: Its no shame to be a noob in the game but please learn how to quote correctly.

I think the Feitoria was such a nice concept (and a gorgeous building), but I doubt it'll ever be properly balanced. It's like the Spanish team bonus, yet more complex. It's already so useless as a source of gold after all the mines have been depleted: how can a Portuguese player last that long in a 1 v 1 vs any good tier civ, in the first place? At least it's a decent source of stone, but they're huge and take no less than 20 slots. Maybe it could take n% of the max pop of the game instead?

And if bombard tower spam is a problem, is there any way of nerfing it without making it really useless? Before having a bombard tower spam opportunity, the Portuguese player will have to get gunpowder units and bombard towers. Unlike many imperial age/gunpowder civs, the portuguese have no eco bonus to help them get there fast (one could argue they have the gold bonus, but it only applies to military units, with the exception of trade units); compare that to cheaper age-ups, cheaper imperial age (and neither the italians nor the byzantines are officially gunpowder civs), cheaper villagers and free/instant chemistry for indians and turks. Also, they lack gold shaft mining. And no particular turtling bonus to help them get there safely either.
Maybe it's meant to be like massed longbowmen or gothic horde in imperial age: you just can't let them get that far.
