AoE 2 - The Forgotten. Honfoglalás / Honfoglalas. My advice to beat Bulgars (Purple)
Hello!! Sorry if my English isn't so good x)

Well, I just want to let you know how I beated the Bulgars (Purple) in hard difficulty today if you are interested in complete this scenario in hard. The scenario in general is hard, but surviving to Pechenegs (Yellow) and destroying Moravians (Green) isn't so hard as beating the Bulgars because they are in Imperial Age while you are in Castle Age. This is what I advice you to do when you have the objective of beat the Bulgars:

1. Gather a lot of resources in your area.
2. (Optional) While gathering resources you can switch to neutral or enemy against Pechenegs and destroy them because they will still being allies.
3. Go to Bulgaria and switch to ally with them to build your buildings and avoid problems.
4. Build at least three or four castles at the Byzantine entrance. Be careful because some purple soldiers would come if you are some near to them. The castles must have at least two squares of space between them and some must beside the Byzantine walls. At the end, you will have two or three "entrances" made by the castles (Check the screenshots at the end).
5. Build some military buildings in the Byzantine city to produce pikemen, knighs, monks, scorpions and mangonels.
6. Put all your cavalry and infantry between the castles and set that they will only attack without moving, so the entrances will be blocked by them.
7. Put monks near to heal them.
8. Gather archers and villagers in the castles. The villagers are needed to repair the castles.
9. Swtich your diplomacy to enemy to purple. Now the funniest part of the scenario is cooming :)
10. A lot of hussars, elite tarkans, skirmishers and pikemen will attack you. You will now use your mangonels and scorpions (Closed and protected by the castles and your "walls of cavalry and pikemen") to attack them, specially the cavalry because they are the strongest and can damage a lot your castles. However, be careful to don't damage too much your castles with the mangonels. The mangonels are stronger but have the problem of friendly fire, while the scorpions doesn't have this problem but are less stronger. Both combined are great. You can also use "Attack Area" of mangonels.
11. With your castles create a lot of Magyar Huszars to distract the enemies. This unit is weak but is cheap and is created fast. They will sacrifice for your castles.
12. Pay attention to your "walls of units". You must be creating knights and pikemen if your units are killed, and you must have monks to heal them.
13. Keep doing that for 60 - 90 minutes while the Bulgars lose all their resources gathered, that are all they could collect.
14. At the end, they will just have some wood to build farms but their villagers will stop to work and they won't produce more army. This is your opportunity to attack them. You will need a lot of rams to destroy their 5 or 6 castles.

I now share with you some screenshots taken during the attack to illustrate my strategy:
