Failed to initialize draw system

Hi,
I bought AoE II HD and played about 5h (that means that my computer is able to run this game). I tried to open it the next day and got this error:

game setup returned an error
MessageBox(4112-Error): Failed to initialize draw system

I tried to reinstal steam, reinstal AoE, reinstal microsoft visual C++ 2015. I checked if hardware acceleration is enabled in DirectX 9.0c control panel.

I don't know what else to do, I didn't find any solution on the forum that worked.
My computer specs:
-Intel Core i3-3120M
-Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
-4GB RAM
-Windows 10 Home x64

The name of the workstation is not "jakes_workstation," I don't know where it took it from or how to change the adress.

Especially try to update your graphics card drivers.
Btw, you should have posted this thead in support forum. There are already other threads about this issue in there

Yes I tried it, because of all actions I took, no game wanted to run anymore, I formated the computer and it works well now

The problem appeared again. It was caused by the instalation of Duet Display. Uninstaling this program allowed for the games to run.

Really weird. Did this influence other games too?
It is very nice from you to post solutions which helped you. This problem appears quite commonly on these forums and your fixed probably will help someone else :)

I solved the problem. It was some issue because I had installed duet display. It runs perfectly on my main PC, but on my laptop with integratet graphics it prevented the game to run. The solution might be to uninstal software that allows you to use your phone or tablet as a second screen.

Hi I uninstalled Duet Display, an app that allows me to use my iPad as an secondary display. For what I know it was stopping some OpenGL processes. Check if You don't have a program that may "emulate" an additional graphics card or allow to use a display via USB.
