Hello my name is x7virus, ex tryhard pro w/e u wanna call it , dominated AOE3 ladder for 3 at 1v1 and 2v2 around 2 years , then i've quit. The time quite passed since i played aoe but now that i got some spare time to play, i was looking for a "starting" rush strategy and with what civilization is the most usefull to play with, i accept tips and anything u have to offer. The most basic strategy on land maps is probably fast castle into knight rush. Most important thing is to make 25-28 villagers in dark age, focusing mostly on food and wood, ageing up and spending only enough time in feudal age to make the 2 required feudal buildings to age up to the castle age at which point you get access to knights at the stable. I don't know how aoe3 is but in this game the most important thing is to never idle your tc and keep making villagers at it. As for civs, huns are great for beginners since there is no risk of getting housed and they have strong offensive capabilities.

Hi. There is a good fast castle tutorial by zeroempires on the steam workshop. Alternatively, the link below has a list of tutorials that will help including:-

Drush Fast castle in to crossbow
Scout rush
Archer rush
Tower rush
Fast castle

Aging up to Feudal with about 20-21 pop if you plan to do scout rush. If your opponent is close, early barrack and 3 militia (need to put 1 villager on gold 1 time, but don't waste ressources on mining camp that early). 23-24 pop for archers, but that is usually not a good strategy. Try to force your opponent to invest more into spearline or/and skirms, as they cost food and will delay their castle time. Just harass to keep them busy in their own base and cause some villager idle time. Keep your units alive, even if they don't get kills. You can also lure some deer with scout for faster food income, but scouting info is important. Consider walling with your buildings, if your map is closed enough. But don't wall with buildings only, because pallisades are cheaper and quicker to build (walling weakens your eco). Be prepared for a tower rush, which is best countered with your own towers. Right at the start check where you can gather your ressources wood, gold, stone the most safely in case your opponent is trying to raid you. If your main ressources are clustered in a main spot and you decide against taking them right away, you might consider going heavily into stonemining for an early defensive castle to secure them (if it's too risky to build one offensively).
However, you will need some military in Feudal already, just don't overcommit and think about the options to counter them your opponent is probably going to use and which ones will be available to you as you advance to caste, without having to tech switch a lot (because you should invest in units first before you get the upgrades). Be aware which military buildings they construct and which ressources they gather heavily. (Keep your scout alive and on duty, avoid running him into your opponents town center. If you do, keep in mind: there is no ballistics until castle age!)
Don't forget to research loom - around 11-12 pop - before you lure your first boar (unless it's really close or you picked the Berbers). And don't forget to build houses in time!
Berbers are a good choice for knight rushes. Aztecs are a good (d)rush civ on open maps with no water, if you would like to try the meta (militia in dark age, but reallly early). Build the first barrack at your own base, or you might have to run your spears/men-at-arms all the way back in case you get raided later, because you were unable to pressure your opponent enough.
Other civs with good early bonus: Japanese (and now they've got bloodlines), Celts, Malians (also wood+infantry bonus), Inca for tower rush (with strong villagers and cheaper towers), Frank scouts now get a HP bonus as well in feudal and Magyars cheap scouts and free forging (with about 6 scouts, I think, you can take out one spear/vill in 1 hit) etc. But as someone pointed out. There is a tutorial in the workshop by Zeroempires, and on youtube Ressonance22 has some good vids covering different aspects of the topic as well as other players, like TaToH etc.

https://www.reddit.com/r/aoe2/comments/7t3qbd/what_is_the_videoguide_that_changed_the_way_you/dt9nmcq/ all you need. the r/aoe2/wiki is more advanced and better resource than almost all guides on Steam (so that you don't get bad habits/ideas from eg. some wannabe streamer noob that post here, trying to impress noobs), with the exception of these two which are good:
