Galactic battlegrounds definitive edition?

Probably won't happen but personally I really liked this star wars conversion of AOE2.
Especially since it has more factions than just galactic republic and rebel alliance.

And the definitive edition could at least include episode 3 content as well, and add new factions.
Preferably not the first order and and resistance though since they'd be too similar to their predecessors.

But they could update the wookies to look more like their appearance in episode 3, give the confederacy magma guards and add variation for jedi and sith and maybe make them more expensive and stronger.

The huts could be a new playable faction, with a tatooine build style.
Maybe a prominent alien race like the Twi'leks, Kel Dor, Zabraks or Trandoshans could also become a new faction considering even the peaceful Naboo are playable.

I know, and we probably won't see a good star wars game as long as EA holds the license. Heck they only make a star wars game once every few years.

Depending on how moddable Aoe2 DE is, it might be possible to make a mod to transfer the Star Wars Galactic Battleground graphics and data for people who own that game. That way you could essentially play SWGB on the new engine with the old graphics. Actually remaking quality graphics in the same style as the Aoe2 DE project is probably outside the scope of what a modding project could accomplish.

Old graphics wouldn't work there, they'd have to pull assets from other star wars games instead.
I don't think a good star wars mod would work there and going the modding route for an age of empires game, Age of Mythology or Age of Empires 3 might actually be more suitable.

they added galactic battlegrounds to steam recently but it was kind of a lazy effort and the game doesnt really work well. I would love to see a full working version of it but I think due to the previous release the execs at Disney are going to think theres not much interest.

I believe it did pretty well on GOG where I have it from.

I'd just love to see galactic battlegrounds with those fancy enhanced edition graphics.

I'd love it but it's highly unlikely. The only old SW game which received an updated rerelease is KOTOR 2. Empire at War and Battlefront 2 classic received some minor updates letting it run on newer systems.

I loved Galactic Battlegrounds but I think it's very unlikely due to licensing issues and perceived lack of demand for RTS when compared with FPS series like Battlefront.
