This includes upgrades from the stable such as bloodlines and husbandry since they also apply to CA's.
Faster firing is pretty important. The accuracy just reduces the arrow variation. That only makes it 100% accurate if the unit isn't moving. When you want to actually hit things, baliistics is imparitive. I almost ignore the acuracy part when picking which tech to research first. I always think of thumb ring in terms of the faster firing part.
This is just coming from a perspective to use the best options available to you, and leverage the strengths of your civ.
No one can tell you not to do CA's with goths though :)
by the way cav archers can pick off groups of viligers faster than cav & infantry can. they also do quite well at defending rams & knights/elephants from pikes.
besides how many people are expecting cav-archers from the goths.
