How long should this take? How many sharpening stones per wooden gate?

Quite a few mate quite a few.
At least 6 maybe more. I don't really
raid so i can't say for sure but, i know
it's not that easy.

"To destroy a vanilla gate from the outside you need either an axe or two hacksaws (can't remember whether you can repair them; if you can, one should be enough).

With an axe you first need to destroy the metal wire that fixes the door to the frame, that will turn the gate into a fence which can further be destroyed with an axe/sledgehammer or, I believe, a crowbar.

Or you can simply cut down the lock with a hacksaw, although one pristine hacksaw won't be enough - either get a second one or fix the first one if possible. After the lock is cut, you can open the gate and enter.

Note that if there's barbed wire on the fence/gate, you can only remove it with pliers."

Since I didn't know you can use a hacksaw to cut down the lock, this will be very useful against the dudes who block of important sections/buildings. Just the having a saw when needed.

this is outdated. u cant cut locks with the hacksaw. and it takes way more time and tools to break thru a wall.

That's why I mentioned this "5 years ago, don't know if it still holds out or not" I didn't say this was current info.

I guess the only way to know how long it takes, what you need and how many of it, is to just go and do it and find out.

u can use anything from your own fists to explosives. one thing obviously takes longer than the other.

I ain't got time for that lol. I'm sure they don't have anything that special that would make it worth wasting my time for, even if I did manage to get whatever, you'll use it all up or die before you even get to.

I'll stick to normal. non raiding, playthroughs.

Edit: Wanting to know exactly how long it'll take was the OP's question, not mines. OP can easily look up a video or ask a streamer etc. I tried to find the answer for OP since most people are too lazy to look up stuff themselves and they don't bother trying to get the answers first hand.

depends on how good you are at counting your blows and tracking your damage to maximize the sharpening.

I found cracking the dial-locks to be pretty effective, if time consuming.

Now this loot spot is available to the server again. lol
