Using the Two Way Transceiver

Okay so how do I actually talk/broadcast with the two way transceiver, I know how to turn it on/off and change the channel but cant seem to confirm if Im actually broadcasting with it?

Some googling shows the period and comma key as being used to key the transceiver but does nothing for me in game when I hit them while trying to talk. Help?

use in game chat key. i forget the working distance, but it is not real far. 500m?

I appreciate you attempting to answer but telling me to ‘use the in game chat key’ unfortunately doesn’t help when my question is….WHAT is the in game chat key? Hitting . Or , as suggested by google searching doesn’t seem to work and I want to make sure I’m actually talking into the transceiver instead of just voice chatting in area.

The range for walkies is 5km from what I understand.

Anybody out there that can tell me how to transmit with the receiver would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Thank you, so to be clear - if Im holding the walkie and I use caps lock, then I am talking into the walkie?

I dont need to use another key before or while hitting caps lock to change the 'channel' from speaking out loud to speaking into the transmitter? (which I know can still be heard by people standing around me)

I don't have a definitive answer to your question, but I would think looking in the options menu under keybinds would show you what key, if any, is bound to "chat" .. I thought it was the forward slash " / " key, but I play solo private server, so no need to memorize it.

ya it is caps lock. sorry if i misunderstood. fyi double tap it will stay keyed on, till double tap again to turn off

Ok :

Ingame, you keep pressed Cap Lock and you have a microphone icone which appears & you can talk ingame & people will hear you into a small range.
And when you release Cap Lock, the microphone icone disappear, so you will not be talking anymore ingame.

If you double tap the Cap Lock, the microphone appears & will STAY, so you can also talk ingame. To remove it, double tap another time.


Now, with your talky walky : turn it ON, and if you do what I said just upstair, you will automatically use the talky walky : another player with talky walky ON & on same channel, will hear you even at 3 km.

I can't be more clear.

ok lets keep going, arrow up down is like you voice volume, mic with 1 sound bar is whishper, 2 bar is normal voice with 3 bar is shouting.

Crystal clear, thank you for walking me through it. My concern was that when hitting Caps Lock I was just talking in the open and it wasnt going thru the walkie as well. You have answered my question. Thank you and good luck out there
