FOV settings effecting running, zooming, and aiming issues.
I recently was lucky enough to get a Long range scope so i thought i'd practice snipping (on Zombies of coarse). I found at ditances even after zeriong, allowing for drop etc.. i couldnt hit a thing (scope is in pristine condition).

After googling i found FOV can cause aimmng issues, i reduced it down to 0 and wow, the amount you can now zoom in is greatly increased, more to the point once range has been set corectly the guns become extremly accurate.

However at FOV of 1 setting, it feels like you're runing in treacle, and you can barley make out the inside of a house.

What is the ideal FOV That is a nice balance of accuracy, speed, and vision?

and what is the games FOV defult, that sliders a right pain in the bum.

Thanks.

(oh idealy if you could recommend where the slider sits in the 'Field Of View' text)

The default FOV is best for combat but some play with it real high you can use numpad "+" & "-" for quick setting, double tapping is a toggle but sometimes it dosen't work.
I think high FOV can effect players been rendered

The default FOV is around 33% of the slider
Its also in your profile config, default is fov=0.96212125

High FOV makes you IMBA in Towns.

Low FOV make you a IMBA Sniper....

Quake 3 was high FOV . So if you want Deathmatch in Town / Buildings your choice is High FOV

Thanks for the info as there was no 'defult' setting button.
I'm ammazed how much differenace it makes to long rang accuracy, not entiley sure why that is.

I expect its a bug, it probably also has an effect on below default FOV aswell.
Might just take awhile to fix.
Arma 2 and the mod had a lock on FOV when using long range weapons(dmr etc) and I think this could be a part of the problem

Ahh hope i can find out what the standerd is again, having in-accurate eapons is a nightmare, plus i'm really missing a larger FOV, it feels all cramped now ;(
