How big is the map in terms of square miles?

not sure myself, but when a road sign says 1 mile, and i run at full speed takes more than 5 minutes, so it almost seems like movement is real time as well, there are a few spoiler maps online showing where all the KoS... i mean Loot is and it looks really big, i feel its bigger than Fallout 3, i was in the woods for like 3 hours, and i still find new stuff

Well cars have already been in the dayz mod for quite some time and from what i've seen it isn't that chaotic
