Huh, zoomed fishbowl for peripheral vision.
I normally get sick if my fov is not eighty percent for some reason or other. Anyway, I placed the slider to about ninety, ninety five percent, and I noticed that my peripheral vision has this zoom effect. At first it felt weird, then I got use to it. Since there is that zoomed effect taking place, I can spot things I normally couldn't unless I move my characters head which helps me to stay still.

Interesting effect, and very handy. Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

That's how FOV works. It's completely normal.

If you have a wider FOV than your monitor, your camera will appear to have moved back in order to fit more stuff on the screen, and you will get that wide-lens/fish-eye feel.

And if you were to change into a narrower FOV, your camera would appear to be zooming in towards whatever you're aiming. This is what causes so many people motion sickness if they're too close to the monitor.
