Why does everyone use TeamSpeak?
Isn't it like cheating?

There is a built in speech system that projects your voice from your character model, its realistic and I think its awesome. But of course, everyone just uses teamspeak so in game everyone is silent.

Hmm, no, I dont think its cheating. I guess you have to think of it like guys having walkie talkies on them and communicating that way in reall life.
dude, wtf? you're running around fighting zombies. but in real life there are no zombies! isnt it like cheating to fight things that arent really existing? -.-

But there are actual walkie talkies in the game that are meant for that exact thing. Not sure if they work yet, no one has been able to find two with two guys to try.

I dunno, I don't actually mind people using TS, but I think its cheating (again, for the love of god, in my opinion LOL)

not if its built into the game

Subverting the in-game voice system is basically cheating, yes, but with no real way of preventing people from doing so, what can you really do?

With that being said, I just use the Steam voice chat system, by inviting my friends into a private chat, then activating voice.

I must admit though, if there -were- a way to force people to use the in-game direct voice systen, with the 80m~ range, it would increase the immersion factor, and all together make communication more interesting and dynamic.

I don't think you know what the word "cheat" mean, even when you try to sound as stupid as you can.

yeah, for the moment me and my friends use the internal game speech system for immersion. Im sure its cool for other players, seeing us walking down the street chatting like in real life.

Its a shame more people don't use it. Ive only ever once come across players chatting in game, and Im pretty sneaky

How in the world would you meetup then?
TemplarGFX Jan 5, 2014 @ 7:23pm
Im less talking about people using it to coordinate getting together and more about people using to do all there inter-group communication once they have met up.

part of the reason the ingame chat works as it does is so that you can hear people talking and that it may give away their position or allow you to avoid a group that hasn't seen you yet.

(My opinion) The games built in voice chat quality is not very good so people use team speak/skype so thay can here there friend better and maby thay dont wont people lisening in on what there saying (BTW have a snowglobe :snowglobe:)

The game has Walkie Talkies found em last night. The ingame speech is better if you talk zombies can hear you, I was hiding and swearing at the zombies and couldent figure out how they were finding me it was my audio triggering them. If you use a mic and a kid screams in your house zombies come running.

Pluse Steam allows you to voice chat directly with your peeps. I play it the way its ment to be played.

TC has no friends.

TS is a fact of life. Whether we agree with it or not. It's like calling your friends on a dialup phone. So is life.

Everyone uses TS due to the fact they have friends on steam or wherever. Same with consoles Xboxlive=TS. Im sure there is an indicator on your hub that lets you know that some one is close enought to communicate with even in TS so im sure they can switch to in-game chat. So hang in there buttercup! (can you tell im a console player making the switch to pc not sure if I used the right lingo)
