how to give items

My friend is starving and i have some food, how do i give it to him? I don't want to drop it on the ground because a lot of the time those things just disappear.

Just drop it on the ground. Can take up to 2 minutes for the server to spawn it in. Drop it on a clear patch of ground. Don't drop stuff above first floor of building - can bug out and spawn on lower levels / inbetween floors etc.

If you drop it takes a minute to actually show up, you can force feed him like Shoop said.

There is a delay from you dropping the food to him seeing it appear on the ground.

You can force feed him, or drop it, do make sure you drop it outside a building, inside it sometimes dissapears(or drops threw the floor)

that dosent work its red, the item i have in hand is bigger than the space in my inventory so i can hold it only in hand, if i try to drag it out into the game scene from inventory it stays red and if i release the left mouse button it dosent drop, instead it stays in my hand

You need to drag it in the free space to the left of your Character , where it says "environment" or something like that. Otherwise i could just imaginge to press the red x.

i managed to drag it over the environment and it became green and i could drop it AFTER i was disconnecting and reconnecting, so i think thats a bug that happens to some items, the item in question was "old gas lamp"
