What do you consider quite well? Anything below 35 fps is just crap.
Lowest settings forces everything onto the processor. Learn how to tweak the game and or dont play on ♥♥♥♥ servers.
What settings would you recommend?
I already did that. Changed everything that multiple sites told me to.
in the forests i get 30-38fps, small towns 25-35, cities 10-20
running;
AMD FX8320 3.5ghz OC'd @ 4.2ghz in bios, 4 cores parked, coolermaster V8 fan(48c temp max)
16GB 1600mhz ram(kingston, not the best)
Gigabyte GTX780 GHZ 3GB(60-70c temp, ambient room temp up to 24c)
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
250GB SSD
28" UHD monitor using display port
changed the dayz.cfg look ahead framerate to 1 from 1000
changed dayz.exe to WinXP SP3 compatible mode
these two changes gave me between 5-10fps improvement overall but smoothness increased greatly, video settings mixed between normal/high, other tweaks i've tried out have just crashed dayz on startup.
in game resolution is at 3840x2160 plus i get no fps improvement by going lower, tried all the way down to 1080, sometimes the fps got worse and it just gets uglier, like watching 240 or 360p on youtube on a 50" tv, still going to try a spare 1080 monitor to see if that makes any kind of difference.
this core module trick sounds interesting so i'll check that one out, cheers.
i've used amd overdrive to OC the 8320 and it works quite nicely, i even noticed it would unpark 4 of the cores when in turbo mode, however i prefer the bios oc method for now.
i have also created a power option "maximum performance" for gaming instead of using windows default "balanced" power option, not really sure if this one helps or not.
i was running
amd 4170 oc'd 4.2
gtx560
8gb ram
ssd
$60 gigabyte board
and i could run it on low in 1080 and still play it but wouldn't get over 30fps
happy gaming.
I have the FX-8320 with gtx970 and 8gigs of ram. Wanna guess what frames fo I get?
I get faking 10fps in a city at best. And 60+ on a open field.
Not worth the time. It´s the same mess as it was and still is with GTA IV.
Don´t get your hopes up. Abbandon this for good. Find something else.
20 something € down the throats of some greedy and lazy developers. Oh well, I hope they choke on it.
