Optimization for AMD FX series CPUs?
So, I´ve bought this game since I´ve planned to after I´ve heard that a Standalone version would be released.

While I do know that it´s early access, in other words, alpha or beta or whatever you want to call it, well, no finished, I don´t understand why the developers just won´t optimize it for AMD FX series CPUs.

I mean, do you hate AMD folks or what´s the problem here?
Same problems we´re experiencing in the DayZ Mod for Arma II.

I thought that when you decide to release a Standalone version, in other words, a full game, you could also optimize it for these CPUs with their unique architecture.
Currently this game only runs well on Intel platforms but barely on AMD.
Most AMD FX owners know how their CPUs are designed and working so they know that in order to unleash their full potential / performance the app / game has to be optimized for this different Core architecture.

Look, even greedy EA lets Dice optimize Battlefield 3 and 4 for this CPU series. It´s not just some marketing BS. It´s actually true. I´ve experienced it. BF3 and BF4 run very well on my AMD FX-6300.

Yet you guys don´t. What´s the reason? Is your your lack of knowledge, or maybe you just don´t want to because fkc AMD?

I don´t know what the problem is but if you want to make sure that people can actually enjoy your game, thus increase the chances of it becomming more known / famous and being recommended, you ought to make sure that it runs well on both platforms.

Don´t forget that more and more gamers are converting to AMD since almost all gaming consoles are now using AMD hardware.
So games will be optimized for it and you don´t want to miss out on that chance or people will just stay away from your game fearing that it won´t be enjoyable anyway due to bad optimization.

I know that optimization should be done at the very end, when the game´s finished but I am just curious whether you even have plans to do it.

I don't know about you guys, but I have an AMD FX-4100 Quad core CPU at 3.6GhZ with a Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GPU and 8 GB's of RAM... I run DayZ SA quite well actually.

What do you consider quite well? Anything below 35 fps is just crap.

Idk my exact FPS, beings I don't run fraps or anything special to check. It's mainly outside towns is higher it seems, and inside towns (like electro or berenzino) it dips, but that's also cause the game isn't optimized either for anything.

I have an FX-6300, GTX 550Ti OC'd, Asus M5A97 R2.0 mobo, 8GB ram, and a PNY SSD. It plays like ♥♥♥♥ for me, I really hope the new engine fixes everything, I can't record for YouTube at all. I know I need a new GPU, but come on I play everything on the lowest possible settings, and 1280x800 and it still lags like crazy.

Lowest settings forces everything onto the processor. Learn how to tweak the game and or dont play on ♥♥♥♥ servers.

Well when I mucked around in my.DAYZPROFILE it netted me about 10+ frames

I already did that. Changed everything that multiple sites told me to.

FX 8320, GTX 660, 16 GB 1600 MHz ram. I have about 50-60 FPS, but in cities it drops to 17 FPS which is a facking joke, it makes completely unplayable. Fack this.

That's cause it's not optimized... don't like it? then wait until it goes into beta when it will be opitmized and just some bugs need to be fixed.

Ahh ok. Is it going to be optimized for AMD CPUs too? (im going for intel in the future though :P )
Shindur 2014 年 7 月 20 日 下午 7:47
It should be.

for anyone who might have a similar system to mine or curious about comparisons;
in the forests i get 30-38fps, small towns 25-35, cities 10-20

running;
AMD FX8320 3.5ghz OC'd @ 4.2ghz in bios, 4 cores parked, coolermaster V8 fan(48c temp max)
16GB 1600mhz ram(kingston, not the best)
Gigabyte GTX780 GHZ 3GB(60-70c temp, ambient room temp up to 24c)
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
250GB SSD
28" UHD monitor using display port

changed the dayz.cfg look ahead framerate to 1 from 1000
changed dayz.exe to WinXP SP3 compatible mode
these two changes gave me between 5-10fps improvement overall but smoothness increased greatly, video settings mixed between normal/high, other tweaks i've tried out have just crashed dayz on startup.

in game resolution is at 3840x2160 plus i get no fps improvement by going lower, tried all the way down to 1080, sometimes the fps got worse and it just gets uglier, like watching 240 or 360p on youtube on a 50" tv, still going to try a spare 1080 monitor to see if that makes any kind of difference.

this core module trick sounds interesting so i'll check that one out, cheers.
i've used amd overdrive to OC the 8320 and it works quite nicely, i even noticed it would unpark 4 of the cores when in turbo mode, however i prefer the bios oc method for now.

i have also created a power option "maximum performance" for gaming instead of using windows default "balanced" power option, not really sure if this one helps or not.

i was running
amd 4170 oc'd 4.2
gtx560
8gb ram
ssd
$60 gigabyte board

and i could run it on low in 1080 and still play it but wouldn't get over 30fps

happy gaming.

Guys but no, seriously.
I have the FX-8320 with gtx970 and 8gigs of ram. Wanna guess what frames fo I get?
I get faking 10fps in a city at best. And 60+ on a open field.

This game is SO DEAD anyway. I have uninstalled it a LONG TIME AGO because of how slow the developers work and because I realized that no matter what they do, it will NEVER run well on any machine as the engine which has been chosen for this game is a desaster, to say the least.
Not worth the time. It´s the same mess as it was and still is with GTA IV.

Don´t get your hopes up. Abbandon this for good. Find something else.
20 something € down the throats of some greedy and lazy developers. Oh well, I hope they choke on it.
