filling a canteen?

hi all!

i was lucky enough to find a canteen, but how the heck do you fill it? I have it in my hands, and im standing at a water pump. I can drink from the pump, but i cant seem to see how to fill my canteen from the pump? it it possible? seems like it should be....

it should give you the option to fill it when you hold it in your hands and face the water pump

I've tried also, ponds don't seen to work either. Maybe its not implemented into the game yet?

it could just be glitchy, but it should work i have two water bottles and normal water bottles that i fill at these wells

you have to carry it in your hands, then it will give you the option to refill next to drink - ponds work!

I had the same problem.
1. Make sure you have the bottle in your hand
2. If you are in 3rd person, move your head into a position where you have the 'drink' prompt.
3. Mouse scroll(upper left) to where you get the option to fill your water bottle/canteen and hit your middle mouse button to confirm your selection..

You go up to a creek or a water pump and put water into ti. What I like to do is go into First Person view and then just look down at the water or pump and there should be an option to fill it up.

You also need to make sure tha tyou have your water bottle in your quickbar and have it selected (IN YOUR HANDS). It wont show up if you dont have the water bottle in you're hands.

No it works, I filled 2 of mine up last night. One in a creek and one at the water pimp (blue) ones that are near houses. You just gotta go into first person view I find and look directly at it with your cursor and itll show an option to FILL. Also have to make sure that you have the water bottle IN YOUR HANDS as you do this.

It does work, everytime I try it it works. Do you have the water bottle in your hands when you try it? It wont show up if you dont have water bottle in your hands. Put it in your hands and then aim towards it itll show up. If you dont have the water bottlle in your hands though it wont work.

@Lateralus. Check your controls and make sure they are set at default perhaps?

yes i do. Just figgered it was a bug or something and gave up, waiting on a fix.. it is a beta after all lol..

My friend had issues to, then he realized he didnt have the water bottle in his hands (it was in his inventory but he wasnt holding it in his hands).
