DayZ, is it worth the pay?

Yeah I'm thinking about it now. I'm familiar with the fact that I'll probably get KOS or just killed alot. Does it happen alot or no?

and I don't want a flood of Yes's. I want to know, as someone who has never played Arma, or DayZ, if this is going to be worth my time and money or not. What should I expect, how hard is it to form groups, and such and such.

Don't buy it now wait until some of the game breaking bugs are fixed. Right now your character will get reset after joining a server a few times.

You will be mad, you will laugh, you will experience Dayz. Yes, you will be killed for the shirt on your back, but thats how the game is played. You have fun, or at least I do. I think you'd like this game if your into zombie type games, with scavenging. I believe it's really worth to buy since this will only get better from now, and price could go up.

Well I'm quite enjoying it right now, keep in mind its in pre-alpha stage, its buggy, incomplete but its playable for the moment.
Even if i get killed i don't rage im just glad i got as far as i did.

Basically you start with a flashlight and thats it. You have to find loot/water/food. If you die, you lose everything. If you're unconcious you lose everything (unless someone revives you). And by lose everything you start from the start. One life.

i know you dont want a flood of yeses and you need to understand if you are thinking about it this is an EARLY alpha so the question is this game fun? this game had no objective other then SURVIVE it has people who shoot on sight and people who will hold you up handcuff you and steal everything you have leaving you bleeding naked in the middle of the road with a bag on your head, this game has no levels and no end game if you are looking for a zombie survival game then this is the PERFECT game for that, once you play this game you will look at your own life and world differently it has no tutorial and is not kind to new players but if you can pick up on it quickly and if you can become moor then just little bambi struggling to get onto his feet then this is one of the funnest games you will ever play and you WILL suggest it to your friends and family. this game is diffrent EVERY time you play it from mod to standalone dayz is uneak above all else it is a game that will only increase in popularety as the bugs are fixed it is a game that is worth a $60 in alpha (sorry i know you dident want someone who played the mod and i tryed to cover moor then just a yes) this game has ALOT! of bugs its an early alpha

Yes far too much I'm afraid. What cursed the Dayz mod servers is no different here.

If you do purchase, my advice to you us get the heck off the shoreline, and into the woods as soon a humaily possible, and loot the small villages. Get yourself a backpack, a bottle, pick any sort of weapon, pick up a knif or axe, and make sure if you see a can opener, pick it up, you can open your cans with it, if you don't have a can opener, a axe or knife will work as well.

Pick up tee shirts, and turn them into rags to bind your wounds. Drink from ponds, and wells if you don't have a canteen, or water bottle. If you come across a med pack, open it, and take everything except bandages (only do that if you already have rags). In that medpack or first aid kit are water purification pills. If you have a canteen, or water bottle use it, you can get sick from well, and stagnat pond water.

DO NOT eat rotten food, or you will get sick which will make you more thirsty, and hungry. If you come across vitamens, use them when you are sick as well, they will help infection.

The list just goes on. I have survived 19 hours against the KOS players, and it does get easier.

Answer: Yes, and No. Depends on if you can put up with buggy yet to be finished game. I hope you have read the disclaimer.
