Does this mean there is no ingame way to display FPS?

Be warned, though. If you have a good rig it will just depress you.

Though you will already be dpressed if you have a good rig in this game, the confirmation of how low your framerate goes in a big town will really make you sad.
What tet5uo said. A solid 30 frames on my end. It makes me cry a little.
I have a pretty good rig, I am getting a gtx770 for xmas, upgrading from a 560, hopeing for some improvment with DayZ, I was just curious to see how much fps I was getting exactly with out using any third-party software.
i have a 560 you lucky bastard

770 is a beast. I've had the 2g and recently got the 4g version from a contest. You would't believe the difference in the 770 2g vs the 770 4g. Go 4gb version if possible. I can run BF4, dual monitors in 3D at a steady 56 FPS.

Don't expect much of a difference. The engine this game is running on is heavily CPU bound. Be prepared for some cpu bottleneck.
I have a gtx780 sc, and still have heavy fps-drops in some places. Like many unfinished games, this one will wreck your fps no matter the rig.

i have a i7 3770k + gtx 680 and i get bad framerate too. in Q1 the gtx 800 will come so im going to upgrate too a gtx 880 if thats not working for this game than im going to oc my cpu
igor-todorovic, i'm not sure if overclocking will work either. i have an amd fx-8320 that's oc to 4.2GHz and i still get frame rate issues in big towns
If you want to display the fps.. you can use steams new feature... Open the Steam Overlay > Settings > Display FPS in whatever corner you like
