How long is night time?

So, I have read there is indeed a day/night cycle in working order but I have yet to see the light of day. How long does night time last in DayZ?

1 hour of day light, 23 hours of night time. At least that's what it feels like.

I've played at 11am, 2pm, 11pm...always night. I've seen daylight once, and it lasted an hour. This is incredibly annoying.

I've played for about 3hrs today, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m (GMT +3) and it was day all the time

Seems that theres countries that hit the nighttime pretty awfully - for me, when im ready to play at evening - I have about 1 maybe 2 hours of daytime to play.

Uhh, doesn't the server browser display the time? Coulda sworn it did... Maybe look before you sit? Dont need to be falling into the toilet because you didn't look.

As there is currently no respawning mechanic for loot, all servers restart every 1-4 hours to avoid becoming comletely empty for fresh players. Depending on the specific time that is set for restart, servers may be all night, mostly night, mostly day or all day for those 1-4 hours.

You can see the time setting in the server browser, most servers restart to 15:00 (3pm) which is daytime and run for 2 or 3 hours while it gets dark between 17:00 and 17:30

Seems to be from about 5pm to 7:30 - 8am
