Free Alpha

Firstly before everyone comes in with the post 'you dont own the game, you havent played' etc etc.
Yes i havent played Dayz standalone at all, but this if from a avid Dayz fan, and general survival/hardcore pvp eg. Eve gamer.

From the sounds of what i have heard and what ive seen on stream, yes this game is purely in a alpha stage. It is purely a broken game that is not functionally, and from what ive seen and heard in its current state its simply not 'fun'.

Now this backlash at DayZ standalone is mainly from the fact that people have paid right now, for this to put in a simply manner 'un-fun' game.

Point im trying to make is, if Rocket and his team really wanted a open alpha, they should of made it free. Let people brake the game as much as possible, find bugs and report, come up with interesting new and easily to implement ideas etc.

This would of calmed a lot of people and actually instead of hurting Rockt and Bohemia's image, would of made them seem AWESOME giving their fans a early test build of their game and having the community be invested in it.

Basically i think it was a mistake to release this alpha and charge for it, either internally test and develop more, or make it free for the community to help you test.

This goes out to all developers "DO NOT RELEASE A UNFUN ALPHA OR BETA" and especially dont charge for one.

Some of us are prepared to give our time and feedback to help improve the game at any stage.

Im happy to pay for it now, as im sure it will cost more when the final is released, as I did with Arma 3.

They have warned you, this game is ALPHA and only for core gamers interesting to find bugs and suggest improvements. Damn... only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ playing DayZ?

You are not just paying for the Alpha version of the game, i bought Arma3 in alpha for half what it costs now. Same with DayZ, the price may rise once it goes into final version, if it doesnt however, the price should be dropped to reflect some sort of discount for buying an unfinished game.
