Why those 3 movies?
The Road (Viggo Mortensen)- This film shows you very well something that others try but they dont get it. The cruelty of an apocalypse world where everything is very very limited, even moral ethics.
28 Days Later ( Cillian Murphy)- Well, Day Z "zombies" are infecteds like in 28 days. They run and even jump.
World War Z ( Brad Pitt)- Because the "Goverment" remaining doing military missions to infected areas that explain Helicrashes.
Why not walking dead?
Because TWD they looks like having infinite ammunition, zombies sucks and they must own a gasoline refinery because they are always moving in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cars, even in convoy.
Opinions?
Irony , i just watched one tonight at work
Your TWD assesment isn't fair. Even in the last season they're only a few years in from the start of the infection. Do you know how many gallons of gas are sold at a gas station every day? How long until the station needs to refill their tanks? Ammo is the same way. Within 10 miles where I live I could easily stock up on 5k+ 556, 4k+ 762, 40k+ 9mm, 100k+ 22lr. An easy 100+ long rifles, sidearms. Even know an armory/range that rents out, sells 50cal rifles. About a dozen weekend warrior bases with military vehicles, 50cals, mobile generators, ect.
Where Brad Pit conveniently finds a mobile home that is fully fueled, and has a Shot Gun in the back and then he manages to save the entire world single handedly.
I think 28 days + 28 weeks are the best representation of DayZ. Maybe that's where Dean got inspiration from?
I say this because the disease in DayZ spreads like wildfire, and so does the virus in 28 weeks later. It also has a long life span (the virus).
The Walking Dead has a lot of small details wrong, but what they have done better than most, is the representation of society as a whole.
It's a mistake that a lot of apocalyptic stories/games/movies get wrong: gasoline and diesel have a very short shelf time, and it's not even funny to think about airplanes. If the storage isn't perfect and if it's left there just sitting (like in an apocalypse) it would go bad and wouldn't work. Might as well fuel your car with water.
...Mad Max got it right though (they use alternative fuel sources, like natural gas and biofuel).
