The other thing to remember concerning final optimization is that when the dev's start optimizing towards the end of the development process; they're not just optimizing for "your" PC... they're attempting to optimize it to run smoothly on literally 100's (if not thousands) of different PC configurations. :j
One thing is optimization after all the core parts are done. And a little different story is the engine, that is just garbage atm (in terms of client-side perf.). And that is the main problem, not the "optimizations" that will come in/after beta.
All we can do is wait and see what the devs will be able to do with the engine in terms of client-side performance.
I guess they dont even know yet, how exactly to reduce the stress on CPU and how much they can improve it.
Edit.: The point ive tried to make is: First u need correctly(to some degree) working engine, then u can start optimizations. The new engine does not exist at this point, thats the problem :)
Yes, i agree, it will help, though i dont think it will miraculously switch a good amount of CPU load to GPU. There is more important stuff that they have to deal with.
All we can do is wait and see :)
first notable performance upgrade comes 2015 Q1.
I hate how people flame on about it being slow when they havent been barely over a year in developement.
Ignorant ♥♥♥♥♥.
Considering the longer its in development the better the game will be, the greater the chance to have more mechanics/content added...
If they rushed we'd end up with a broken buggy game at launch with quite a few amazing things missing.
And honestly after release..and years after that...is anyone going to look back and cry about the length of development?
No, but there will be plenty of people wishing they would have kept their mouth shut and supported the devs more...hindsight is always 20-20 though isnt it?
Its been in development for about 1 year...
You dam slow reader XD
I read quite fast.

Hicks (Sept 10th 2014) - ""You are not playing DayZ, you are playing development builds. Early development build," Hicks wrote (via PC Gamer). "DayZ is 11 months into principal development, on what should be a three-year standard development cycle."
YOU are a slow reader!

Seems like I was right. They've been developing this game for 2 years now at least.
