server history- please help- about to just hang it up
My server history either shows up blank or is a giant list of servers I know I never played on, and its been this way as long as Ive been playing the game.

So I join a server about a week ago, played probably 30-40 hours stacking gear up.... then the server hasnt been available since last night.

So I jump on a new server and found a stockpile of gear in a mil base. I gear up then spend 2 hours heading to dubky to look for a tent. I get there and climb atop an apartment then server times out. I log out and try to get back in but it takes me to the server list like this server is unavailable.

I go to the history tab to try and find the server I played on all last week or the one I just played on and they are not there.
I have backpacks stashed and weapons on these two servers and now cannot find them.

I know this games in alpha but I just want to be able to find the servers I played on.
Anyone have any ideas?

It's not ideal at the moment, for some reason it's sorted by ping instead of date.

If you really need to find your recent servers you can do the following:

Open the following file in notepad+ and you can see your history in order.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<Steam User ID >\7\remote\serverbrowser_hist.vdf

You can also delete that file to clear your history and favorites.

Alternatively, open C:\Users<USERNAME>\Documents\DayZ\<USERNAME>.DayZProfile and search for "lastMPServer" for the last server you were on.

plus most of the time my server list doesnt even show any results on internet or history tabs and Ive tried waiting, refreshing, backing out and back in, set filter to default..... its just unresponsive and buggy- this is my main concern with the game and it happens everytime. It shouldnt be so hard and buggy and impossible to find the servers youve played on.

What do I have to do? Set a server as a favorite before I even try it out for the first time to see if I even like it to be able to find it again?

awesome- ill look for the files-

Say I find the 2 servers I am looking for- can I delete all the others from the list and that will sort things out? thanks

That's pretty much what I have been doing :)

ok, under my server history file- there is 111 entries. would the last server I played on be #111 then?
Its in IP format- if I search that IP# I will be able to find it?

The last one would be this part from Smash:
"Alternatively, open C:\Users<USERNAME>\Documents\DayZ\<USERNAME>.DayZProfile and search for "lastMPServer" for the last server you were on."
This part from Smash.

I looked at C:\Users<USERNAME>\Documents\DayZ\<USERNAME>.DayZProfile
there was no lastmpserver

What is smash?
In my server history file there is history of me visiting 111 servers.
Would the last server I visited be #111 (bottom of list) or #1 (top of list)

The mod that replied further up.
I got no idea what kind of order that other file will show them in.

I think they are in order so it will be the last one, you can check the lastplayed field with any unix timestamp converter though eg http://www.epochconverter.com/

awesome- thanks for the converter link...

yep #111 was the last one.

So now what?..... open dayz and in filters - type in the server IP # ?
Lame Gaming Nov 26, 2014 @ 12:24pm
I tried searching for the last 3 servers I played on.....nothing

ARGGGG
I dont know if the servers are gone or my server list is just bugged cause the majority of the time no servers show up anyway even with filters on default.
Im tired of starting over- this sucks

could one of those server history files be corrupt or something and why im having problems?
Is there any files I can delete to straighten this out? seems like noone else has had this issue
