Idea for Mosin Suppressor.
Mosin -> Knife -> Duct Tape -> Water Bottle.

C'mon, why wouldn't it be possible?

Let's take Sniping to the next level, what with these Ghillie Suits and all, make thing's interesting :).

for OP, why cant you find an video about making a makeshift silencer for sniper rifle (min of 7.62 caliber)

Its because the blow effect would only work for the first shot, since almost all guns have some kind of gas reliever in the barrel. it just bursts the bottle in pieces, doesnt work even for the first shot AND POSSIBLY STUCKS in the barrel making it easy to blow your weapons barrel.

Because I coulnd't be bothered looking that far and was trying to think of resources currently in game that may work as Suppressors, since I am fairly certain that they aren't going to make one for the Mosin, or SVD and was simply trying to improvise.

I would like to be able to stuff the barrel of my mosin up a live rabbits arse and use it for a suppressor (Payday 2 style).
Problem is round is supersonic...so the 'crack' of the round is still there. Most of your 'suppressed' weapons need to fire a 'subsonic' round usually 9mm or .45ACP. All your device will do is 'mask' the gas expansion a tad, the travel of the round will still be 'loud'.
"It must be possible" in the video he is firing .22 remington subsonic rounds, you would be a stupid ass if you fired a regular 7.62x54mm (Standard Mosin round) out of a mosin with a water bottle on the end of it, it would either be absolutely pointless as the noise level would remain the same, or the gasses would build up and pop the water bottle.

It would make more sense asking for a set of supressors to be added.

1. As Sergeant said, your improvised water bottle silencers would not work on a 7.62. Or really anything above a .22 or maybe a 9mm. Even then, you are talking one MAYBE two shots at best.
2. The Mosin will never be able to be silenced with a "real" silencer, as they do not have threaded barrels.

I'm pretty sure payday wasn't what you were after here...
You can not 'silence' a supersonic round, physics.....shock wave of round traveling through atmosphere will 'crack' no matter what. The 'compensator' for the 91/30 is locked using the front sight post like the bayonet, does reduce recoil
Thats not going to work with a mosin the mosin is a 7.62 caliber and in the video is a .22... Sporter yes but most calibers higher than that...... not really....

5.6X15R or .22Long Rifle travels at 1200fps with .40gr RN, 7.62X54R travels at 2580fps with 181gr FMJ. So a lot of energy difference, and a lot of pressure coming out of that barrel with the 7.62, far more than a plastic bottle to contain.
SIgh, yeah I meant "Postal 2" Style.

Give me a link proving that. That is not only incredibly ridiculous but extremely unsafe. the slightest amount off center and best case scenario your round flies wild, worst case the suppressor explodes in your face. There is a reason they are threaded on, to ensure a strong and straight attachment to the barrel. You CAN get a threaded barrell made, but they would not be anywhere near this country.
The best can I ever had was a DT338 silencer on a Desert Tactical SRS .338 Lapua. It was hands down the best weapon system I ever had. I wont say what I paid for it, but I will say that I sold the rifle, Titan suppressor and optics for 12k, and thats not even close to what I paid for it all.
Also, subsonic rounds are a lot quiter yeah... But the majority of the reason behind a suppressor/silencer is removing the report of the shot at the barrell and hiding the muzzle flash. The sound of the round doesn't make a huge difference to be honest.
Exactly. The nice thing about shooting in a valley is its impossible to pinpoint the shooters location, assuming said shooter only fires once and relocates after each shot.

On the compensator/muzzel brake for the 91/30. Cheaper Than Dirt Mosin-Nagant Accesories, http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/9-59639

Bolt-On Mosin Nagant M44 Muzzle Brake. Clamp wraps around Front Sight.

Have one on mine.

Flash suppressor/muzzel brake works just as well to 'remove' flash, your are never going to remove 'sound' from a high velocity rifle round, or the report of the discharge of the weapon.

Not once have we been spotted firing our SKS's, one round, does not give the target the ability to localize by sound, takes two or more for ears to 'localize' area shot came from. 2-4 rounds from 2-4 SKS's coming from different directions...good luck locating the shooter(s).
