Need quick answer! LOGOUT?

My third game in DayZ!

I am in-game. Got full gear etc. with an awesome rifle and so on; and then I bumped on a guy asking me to follow him in a house. When he went inside, I closed the door behind him and run the f*k away, as fast as I could.

So now I am chased by 4-5 zombies and the guy is lurking around.
I am currently locked in a house with zombies growling outside. I gotta logout cause I need to leave. Is it ok to logout while they are at my back right outside the house waiting for me, or will I login dead later on?

As long as they are not inside, it's safe to logout. You should be fine.

Go in the middle of the room or something.

Thanks! I am in the middle cause their bodies clip through the walls and I can see them. If I enter later at my buddies' server, will I keep my gear and the Zombies will be gone?

Sorry but it is my first normal playthrough so I kinda know nothing about the game.

EDIT: Are you 100% sure that loging out will be fine? It seems that they follow me around the house from the outside when I move into the room. They are after me clearly.

as long as they cannot come inn, you should be fine.. you stay in game for 30 sec after logout.

your biggest problem is the guy you bumped into. if he find you in that 30 sec he might kill you..

I think I am safe from him.
He seemed friendly but when he asked me to enter the house I just panicked. I had a gun and he had an Axe so in close quarters he could kill me - especially if he had a friend inside. My character is a treasury with all the food/guns/gear I have so I am overprotective.

I kinda laughed when I closed the door behind him. He was like yelling, "Hey dude... why would you do that... come back!"

I think I did. I am in a state where I run immediately when I see someone else.

Thanks! Remember to have fun with that gear - you can lose it quick to a bug or hacker.

Thanks, nice video. So, it takes 30 secs as also others said to logout after clicking "Exit" so other human players, if they find you, they can kill you in that time.

However, Zombies, even if they attack you, they cannot kill you. BUT, I think in one of my very first few games, I logged out while being attacked by a Zed and when I logged in I were bleeding.
I obviously died cause I had no bandages.

Btw, If I am bleeding, what do I need exactly to stop it?

AND

IF I CHANGE SERVER, DOES IT AFFECT MY PROGRESS? OR I CAN SKIP SERVERS EASILY?

Any advise to avoid this from happening? How can a hacker "steal" my stuff for example?

Tearing your shirt into rags would be the easiest way.
At least until you find proper bandages.
In some ways rags more useful as they can stack to 6 uses.

Cool, so I should have some rags ready from clothes I find on the ground that I don't need.
Do you know if changing servers affects my gameplay? Will I lose stuff etc? Or I can easily skip servers without worrying?

Dont know how they do it, but your gear drops to the floor and when you try to pick it up it just happens again. It happens often on full servers, rare on half empty servers..
