That doesnt mean the "24" hour cycle is real, they can put the server at 24 hour cycle but 1 hour of the server can be for esample 4 minutes in real life, do you get me? its still nothink sure, they didn't sayd "Real 24 cycle time" they just sayd it... so they might make the server at 24 hour cycle but not real..
I have yet to see a server where you can have a full day in DayZ. Day and night in lets say an hour.
Besides which, the game is still in it's infant stages. The Mod, when it was refined, was capable of having servers that ran 24/7 day or night. There is no reason to beleive that this won't happen in this particular circumstance either, when the game is finished.
Asking the community for an "informed opinion" will solve nothing. It will only be counter productive as it will start a forum debate that may run the risk of resulting in a flame war with so many people coming down on one side of the fence, and so many people coming down on the other side. You'll end up getting no where, and even then, you have to convince B.I to impliment the idea scene as this isn't an open source project and we have no legitimate power to change anything.
I prefer to be able to experience dawn and dusk ingame. The sunrise/sunset also helps with direction.
I agree with Cadderly: there is no reason to think that this 24hour realtime is going to be the only option.
Completely disagree, the alpha testing stage of the game is exactly when we should be feeding info back in the hope the take some of the feedback on board. We are testers of the game and if we be constructive in our feedback why wouldn't the devs listen.
My two pence on this is also i work through the day so would only get to play at night so the only way i would really play is on an international server where it is daylight. Im happy with real time servers but let the admin choose the timezone so us workers can get some daytime play.
B.I won't respond to a dare. They likely won't even ackowlege the existance of this thread. Trust me when I tell you that this more than likely won't happen.
I also think that you have more chances of winning the national lottery, than you do of getting 2 million + players together to take part in a poll, and that poll giving you the result that you want. I would put my money on many gamers telling you to shut up about it before they actually take part. I for one can tell you that, I personally won't take part in the poll. It's not my place to try and change the nature of the game.
I beg to differ, what your suggesting impacts in real life. Although, yes, this is a video game, the development phase is done by real people, the game is played by people in real life. Changes of this nature will have a significant real life impact on the fan base and the dev team.
