Shooting weapon 1st person vs 3rd person POV
Has anyone else had problems in terms of aim? I mean this seriously, like for example using the white dot if you aim in 3rd person POV and then switch to 1st person POV, your aim is off. I prefer using 3rd person to play to be honest. So I wanted to know if anybody has taken notice of this? And is there a solution in my settings for example? Am I setting up something wrong? Thank you.

3rd person is not for fighting and your aim is in fact slightly off..(remember the gun in relation to your white dot, is angled...and thus the bullet wil angle....it is not dead on accurate that way)

Should be great for close combat - but hard with distance between you.

Even close combat is off. I was aiming for infected lower chest, gut area from close ranch with a magnum, ended up looking like the hit detection was near the neck. Thank you for explaining it though. At least I know it was meant to be that way and not some faulty sensitive setting or something on my part. Although I do not get the angled part , since when you aim with weapon I would assume the white dot would be at a 180 degree or straight line in relation to the weapon. Either way, I will simply switch to 1st person more often now in such situations. Thanks again.

Simple answer the "white dot" isn't anything to do with your weapons ironsights/crosshairs etc.. Infact it is an indication of what your eyes are looking at when interacting with the world around you, so of course there would be a drop in the angle when shooting in 3rd person.

Makes sense. Thank you.

No problem, just familiar yourself with the difference in the angle becuase it can come in handy when being rushed by multiple infected from all directions. Anything over 30/40 meters I'd advise going into 1st.

The infected cause no real problems. Even if there is 5 or more I will just gather them up in a small circle, run in circles with a fire axe picking off one by one. The only time I shoot the infected is if I am in one of the bigger cities, and want to see how noise draws them close.

Well many things also can change the accuracy of your gun...your aim itself is part of being tired...out of breath....also Holding the AIM button also holds your breath for a very short time and that will steady the aim...weapon condition also can make a difference.....

Just practice with it...to get used to what it does and how it reacts....then get pissed off when you realize that most guns react differently. Thats why get use to this phrase..

this is my gun. There are many like it but this one is mine!
