Does the Gorka Military Helmet Visor do anything?

So I'm trying to make my character as camo as possible with green everything. Now I picked up the new Gorka military helmet and visor with visions of being impervious to blunt melee combat especially the unpredictability of fresh spawns trying to knock me out.

Now I've seen freshys knock someone out wearing a pristine motorcycle helmet and I fear the visor on the Gorka helmet is just cosmetic. It was originally rumoured that a gorka helmet with visor would prevent a KO all the time especially against fists.

This wouldn't be an issue except the visor being white and reflective is just about as easy to spot as a respirator making it counter intuitive to equip if it is just cosmetic.

So does anyone know for sure if it does anything or am I better off ditching it?

Keep in mind I'm not talking about invulnerability against bullets, axes or electric cattle prods. Just resistance against fists, baseball bats, fire extinguishers and other blunt items. And I'm not talking about the Gorka Helmet, I'm specifically refering to the bright as all hell visor, does it do anything having it equiped or not?

prob dose nothing but look stupid so far... i think they will fig out what portects what an from what later in the game makeing prosess. cant say fo sho tho just my opinion.

if you have lost blood your resistance to shock damage reduces too.

Firstly, that definitely shouldn't have happened and was likely just buggy, because the shock damage of fists is nowhere near enough to KO someone wearing a pristine bike helmet, the shock resistance is just too high. Unless he was hitting him a TON with an axe or one of the other "high-tier" melee weapons, it was probably just buggy, as that's not how bike helmets are supposed to work.

At the moment, I believe the visor is just a cosmetic thing, it provides no extra bonuses over the standard Gorka helmet (which I assume is statistically equally to the NATO style helmets) besides looking pretty badass. However, realistically speaking, the visor probably should be bulletproof to an extent. There are many ballistic visors on the market with a level IIIA NIJ rating, which stops up to a .44 magnum, and there's no reason to attach a non-ballistc visor to a ballistic-rated helmet. Non-ballistic visors are basically made to be attached to riot helmets, which aren't ballistic-rated as far as I know, they're just made to stop blunt force very well.
