Just 5 minutes ago I set a bear trap in a small garage and then walked across the street to a green two story house and I went upstairs and both my legs broke. Karma. I then got beat to death by a zombie while I was applying a splint.

I just set a trap, activated it and started backing away. It went off and broke my legs. Game over. Looks like you have to be more than a body length away before activating it.

Yeah, you can also fail setting up a mine (explodes in your face upon activation), found that out the hard way.

I think it depends if the trap is damaged or not. It's a good mechanic really, just really wasnt expecting it lol.

I don't know about bear traps, but I know that you can miss-handle Land Mines.
