I mean, with persistance enabled, you could just drop stuff on the floor and it will still be there, and you'll still have a roof over your head, with the same issues as using tents, I.E. If found, it will still likely be looted.
Someone may stumble across the truck but even then, there is little chance that the rest would be found ... I don't really use the truck much and will probably dump it soon anyway.
Items not containeed on you or tents/backpacks will have a clock ticking away on their life, and tents etc not interacted with will alsy have a clock ticking. When the clock runs out they despawn. items in tents/packpacks, etc will not have that despawn timer running.
This really is the most convenient way to camp in my opinion.
The small ones will just have starter supplies and will be located within easy reach of either the east coast or the south coast ... no more bambi problems, if I ever become a bambi that is.
The whole filling tents then unfilling them is a pain, Different back packs in different locations for specific types of loot works much better
But Backpacks and Tents seem to have a lifespann of 9 Days without interaction.
So yes good Tactic with the Backpacks, didnt tried it myself, makes things easier if you want to talk with others, just hide your stuff before. Iam not sure how long weapons stay.
But beware the Pinetrees may eat your Items. Keep some distance from them :)
