includes changing some numbers in a text file in My Documents - options that you normally can't access from the game's menu. It makes DayZ look 10 years old, but hey, extra frames.
***Don't do the -memory, -threads- & -cpu stuff in the "Steam launch options" part. It kills fps for update 0.54
I second this, good info, worked for me! all up to how you want to set things up.
It's not your graphics card. It's the settings in the DayZ folder. You need to change your view distance and shader. That's what wears down your FPS. Remember that the graphical settings for the game haven't been optimized.
It doesn't matter how many graphic cards you have in your rig. You will still get about an average of 50-60 if you lower down your View Distance and Shader.
sceneComplexity=100000 - this number affects your object details. Setting it anywhere from 50000 to 15000 can gain you a few frames.
Default Values: Very Low = 200000
shadowZDistance=50 – this number affects the distance at which shadows are drawn, setting this to a lower value will increase FPS.
Default Values: Very Low = 100;
preferredObjectViewDistance=500 - this number affects the distance in metres that the engine will draw objects. A lower number will greatly improve performance. Setting this below 800 makes you vulnerable to taking fire from invisible enemies that haven’t been rendered on your screen yet.
Default Values: Very Low = 800
viewDistance=500 – this number affects the distance at which you will be able to see objects. A lower number will increase performance, but setting it below 800 will mean that you may not be able to see incoming threats like players or zombies in the distance.
Default Values: Very Low = 1000
these areas should edit view distance and such..
Yeah like RAW said. You really don't need to know what's going on in Los Angeles if you're in San Diego. Have your view distance set to 800-1000 max. There really is no point seeing further unless you're going to be using the Mosin.
The scene complexity should be set according to your graphics as well. So no more than 10000.
Scene 10000? or did you mean 100000?
It's supposed to be "setting it anywhere from 50,000 to 150,000 can gain you a few frames."

Game runs so poorly I was forced to uninstall. None of these fixes work, but then, alot of these newer games are all in bed with intel, so chances are if your an AMD user, you will never, or not for a long time, see any optimized gameplay. AMD is treated like a red headed step son to game devs today.
I am going to be building an intel pc for gaming later this year, simply because most of these games are designed to be ran on Intel, and they dontr care about AMD at all. And this is a fact, if you doubt this, go to Miscreated main website, where the devs their openly slander anybody using amd and tell you if you own amd, your pc is trash.
Pretty nasty devs? Atleast they are honest about their intentions. Dayz Team wont say that as publicly, but they harbor the same feelings.
I know. I'm finding a fix here. not someone to make fun of me.
