playing low pop servers

i play low pop servers when i dont feel like being kos, i often see around 3-4other players in the server with me, ive always wanted to come across another surviver to ask why they play low pop, id like to think its for the same reason as me and not server hopping looking for gear, if anyone plays low pop servers id love to know why you play them.

y'all make good points. So far in the server I'm on I haven't came across anyone but I did come across a few stashes. One stash I left a bake zucchini and the other I gave them all my medical junk (i accidentally threw in some chlorine tablets)

Lowpop is for me more "survival" than on highpop servers, which tend to be often pvp focused.
Playing on a sometimes challenging modded lowpop server i still often struggle to survive.. but hey, i enjoy it.

Low pop namalsk hardcore servers is where it's at. less than 10 people gives the "apocalyptic" feeling, only a few survivors remain on the island and not everyone is there to kill, as meeting other people is quite rare so it becomes a bit more "special". Just surviving, exploring the map and trying to find the lore clues, knowing there might be someone where you're going, friendly or hostile, who knows...

I remember a encounter on a low pop server a couple of years ago, I’d just crashed my new 4x4 close to my camp and was having a look to see what I needed to fix it. The radiator was ruined and I’m wondering whare I can find a new one when I heard a hello I’m friendly, thou a bit nervous being so close to base we ended up chatting and then went to look for a radiator together in a nearby town with no success. He offers that he has one stored near by and will get it and meet me back at the car. I’m thinking this is a trick but I am also beginning to trust him so I agree to meet him back at the 4x4. I stash my gear in my base go back to the car and wait

He comes back in a truck with the radiator and a whole lot of spar parts. Once car is sorted we end up in my base unloading all the goodies I’m totally trusting him now and ask if there is something I can give him in return, he’s looking for a 101 but I’ve only mags and ammo for one but no gun which he declines. we decide to go hunting where we end up in a area close to his base and he shows me around, we share steam names and friend each other.

Days later I find a 101 get a barrel and dump outside his base door leaving the gun and spare mags inside. Then message him throu steam what’s waiting for him.

We still roam together and have a laugh while trying to hunt. Low pop servers have less encounters but more worthy ones

Obviously there is more loot because you have to share it with far fewer people... more difficult to meet "a**hole" players because those, generally, go to more populated servers to find more "wretches to bully"... same thing the cheaters, hardly they find fun in servers with few players.
For me DayZ is "pandemic survival"... infected, wolves and bears are more than enough, if I was looking for "war" I would not use DayZ, I have the whole Battlefield series which is definitely better for this... and if I wanted a game "complex" I also have ArmA 2 & 3 (but unfortunately they don't work for me). I'm sorry for don't know English because I read about other players who appreciate PvE and avoid clashes only on the English forums. In my language I have only found cheaters, raiders and unreliable (no-show)

Totally, why isnt there any PvE official server? For me this game awesome as a pandemic survival. i have more than enough.
But then again you see how people are reacting to an actual pandemic. and its the same level of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as in the game.
For sure we earned the darwin award this year as an species.
