How do I put out a fire?

Me and my friend started a fireplace but when we were ready to get moving we couldnt put it in our backpack or anything. It was still burning but we tried pouring our canteens on it and it wouldn't go out. How do you extinguish a camp fire so it can be put in a backpack?

before you could just tell it as an action, to put out fire, if it fails, try taking the log out.. that should stop it also

I THINK you can put it out with water bottle/canteen. I recall seeing an option to do that when I had the canteen in my hand next to the fire.

Remove the firewood. The fire goes out and you should be able to make it portable again. Honestly though I don't see why you'd need to. Rags aren't too hard to collect and sticks are common, same with trees for firewood. Still, this should be all you need to do. Also keep in mind that sticks and rags stack to make 4 fireplace kits and only take up 3 slots over the 4 the kit takes.

Heyyy how do I put these fires out? I made 2 fires next to my barrel to dry off, but now they keep glowing. Well I don't want to attract a player to my barrel, I couldn't figure out how to pour water on them or something, I need to move these things.

Don't use rags as kindling. Use books/paper and all that paper you get from ammo boxes. I think bark also works as kindling too. Using rags is dumb though, such a waste. Sure there's no zeds right now to make you bleed, but I mean the Nazi in me just wants to see the books burn...wait did I just admit that publicly?

Yea I got no problem burning certain books I just use rags because there's clothes everywhere. So if I use paper then I can put out the fire or move the fireplace or how's it work?

Just use your canteen. Put in hands, go near fire, and "Extinguish" or something...

I was more joking about the state of the US's censorship. Any book referencing the "N" word is now censored, removed, etc. All it takes is for someone to be offended.

Of course. The US wants a populace of brainwashed worker drones, art (especially art with profanity) is just not conducive to creating ignorant, sheltered, content cattle. It stirs stuff up too much and creates too many new perspectives.
