How do rabbit traps work?
Anyone know the mechanics? Does it have to be in the woods? Can I be near it? What if I move while near it? How long does the rabbit stay before it disappears?

Anyone??

I've never caught one, but from my understanding if you see animals in or around an open field thats supposedly the location in which to set the raddit snare. Someone else may have more information and have actually caught a rabbit in a snare/trap.

A man has needs in the apocalypse bro...

:-)

also I set my trap and ran off to ponder on new spawns. Came back and there was a rabbit. Still having trouble harvesting without using F11. Even if f11 works, it gives me nothing most of the time.

Congrats AppleJuice, now I have to ask did you have a sighting of some rabbits in the area or did you just set the snare and after sometime you caught that little critter.

Ive managed to catch a number of rabits... although this was a few patchs back.

Every time i did it I stuck my trap down within woods (somewhere I could find again), which for me was a dry river bed. I then went off and searched a nearby group of buildings (the ones just east of the bolota apartment complex near the lighthouse?). Searching took me about 10 minutes I came back and usually there was a rabbit in one of the traps, once i waited about 15 minutes to get one, and one time I simply sat cooking all the rabbit I had prior only about 40 feet from my trap, and when i had cooked all the meat there was another rabbit in my trap.

Personaly i think basicly stick it where you like, and wait 10-20 minutes return and your traps should have a rabbit or two in em (Id stick down at least 3, given every trap ups your chance of catching one significantly probability wise). I think all the mumbo jumbo people subscribe to catching them is nothing but superstition.

And no there was no other rabbits hopping around nearby, although there was a boar at one point, but he wasnt around when I caught the rabbits (it was on a different day).

No sighting. Also about less than 15m from the sight, I set two traps that were not working for sure. But I was within the area, looking at them through my sniper scope.

On second thought, about 50-100m away, I shot a rabbit with my mosin the other day.
