DayZ
DayZ official servers uncurable vomit (best cure happens to be F11, like any other disease if you're impatient enough lmaoooo)
So, lemme explain my situation. Me and a friend of mine just killed a duo, while being heavily (Tisy) geared. While we were debriefing, we both vomitted at the same time. Kinda weird, but, maybe we just ate something bad. It did give us a disease however - no more vomitting, but blurred vision and maybe decreased stamina regen? ...So, we continue on, and we lose the disease. We make sure to check our food for rot or such. Only to both throw up again and get the exact same disease back. We log off for the day, hoping the suspected cheater who is causing this is gone by tomorrow. Only to join in and throw up after a few minutes. Then, I discovered the vomitting doesn't affect your hunger or thirst, like the actual vomitting in DayZ. If you log off and log back in again, you'll lose the disease for a sec (EDIT: This is just DayZ servers taking a sec to register your disease), but then you'll immediately throw up again with the exact same conditions. I haven't managed to speak with any other randoms in the server (Official server: 3779 | EUROPE - DE) to confirm if the whole server population is affected. I do know, however, when the vomit started, the server had 60/60 players - perfect target for a cheater. However, the next day, it was 40/60 - not a prime target for a cheater. So, why the f*** is this still happening? Is it a cheater? Is it a bug? I sure as hell don't wanna test if F11 is the fix, since the AKM and VSS in my inventory sure look underused... Any thoughts?

Well, I've had a revelation. After further vomitting, it has severely affected our thirst - pretty much making playing DayZ on that character a death wish, no matter what. Fun!
You may find your answer in one of WOBO's YT videos, it's worth a shot to take a look before doing the F!!. Good luck

It sounds like you've already made up your mind that it's cheaters, rather than be open minded to other causes .. like the 2 guys you killed and looted were sick, and you caught what they had ... You don't mention taking any medications, just "looking" at food (which tells you nothing, there is no visual indication if food or drink is contaminated). "Spoiled" food only makes you sick if you eat too much of it at one time. You also don't mention what kind of "food" it is your checking for spoilage .. like, are you eating Wolf or Bear meat? Or is it Goat, Pig, sheep or Deer, or what?

All of this.

Plus, it takes the server a few seconds after logging in to “remember” your stats. So you’ll look fine at first then if you’re sick, you’ll get the icon. I think
This is even the same for food/water, where everything looks full immediately after logging in.
If you eat from contaminated food those people ate from (if they had a disease) you will catch that disease too. That's why I never eat from open food from my enemy, only close canned food or uncooked meat.

Also, there is no way cheaters can infect you with a disease as far as I know, admins can, maybe cheaters too at this point... considering some cheats are admin powers on steroids sometimes.
Admins or players who have illicitly unlocked admin tools can change the status of a player, such as forcing them to vomit, breaking their leg, or freezing them in place.

If your vision got blurry though, that means you have cholera. You get that from dirty water, or supposedly food that was nibbled by a player who already had cholera.

If someone in that duo had cholera, they probably tried to manage the disease by taking small bites and gulps. Did you both eat from their loot?
Okay, had a hiatus, but I'll respond to all the answers, I suppose. And, uh, thanks for leaving a suggestion, everybody!

Good suggestion, thanks, but I struggled to find anything related to this issue though. Great channel tho ngl.

Good theory. You make an alright point. And, we do know the whole edible and unedible meat mechanics - we were eating cow and sheep we hunted, matched by some unopened cans of food. But, we did eat some fresh food. However, we did not eat anything from the duo we had just killed and the disease lasted for days - you would not eat or drink ANYTHING at all, lose the disease and get it right back again from randomly throwing up. Though, you're right, I didn't mention taking any medications - I forgot to mention. Took vitamins, charcoal, tetra, no effect at all. And, I want to clarify: DayZ might just be my favorite game and I will always love the ♥♥♥♥ out of it (lmao) but, still, sometimes it frustrates me, not exactly on death in PvP. In situations like this (lmao).

Yeah, you're actually right about the stats stuff I think. So, we can cross that off... Though, would I throw up immediately after joining if I had a disease like that? (no matter what, rejoined different servers and the same server, always threw up on log-in)

Yeah, contaminated food is a great thought at this point, but I don't think we ate anything off of them. At least, I can't recall. Still, the effect seems a lot more extreme than a regular illness. Though, you're right on the DayZ cheats - even if this happens to be a bug or... something else... Cheaters are more powerful than damn moderators at this point lmao, even if official servers don't have any.

No, I don't think we did. Especially since we were already very situated on all our needs and I don't think they were carrying food, or at least, that's what I recall. You're probably right about the cholera - that's a good thought on the bluriness... And, big brain s*** on how they would manage cholera ngl. But, uh, yeah, we didn't eat off of them. Though, I can confirm the only water I drank is from wells. And, since I didn't eat any of the duo's food, perhaps I got extremely unlucky and ate a contaminated, like, pear on the ground? (lmao) The pear was beneath a fruit tree though, so I dunno... And, right, what you said about the admin tools - I have that impression too. Been in a server where everyone just got 12 cuts at once. EVERYONE. I was spawning at Kamishovo at the time it happened, so you know damn well there's plenty of witnesses. Big while ago.

Likely to be cholera or Salmonella.

But it just doesn't make sense - it can't. You lose the sickness then you immediately throw up again, no matter if you consumed anything or not. Welp, thanks for the suggestion though, and WOBO's info board is quite useful for future runs I suppose. Though, uh, things have worsened in terms of my thirst and hunger (discovered that you constantly throw up after eating or drinking a proper amount, without a full stomach icon, which is actually a symptom of cholera. Except, it's permanent lmao, no matter what you do) and F11 has been thoroughly considered lmao. I'm ngl, I'd rather start fresh than always have to eat 1-2 bites at a time and throw up mid PvP lmao.

No shame in that. We've all been there.
Sometimes you just get a ♥♥♥♥♥ start that's hard to recover from.
It is a game after all.

Sometimes you get everything and die to you're own stupidity
always feels good /s

So, yeah, final post here.
Me and my duo tried to treat it as if it's salmonella or cholera. Tetra, vitamins, charcoal, and just not eating anything at all to make sure we don't happen to catch it again. Disease goes away eventually. And then, boom, we both throw up and the cycle begins again lmao. So, yeah, it's happening. F11. Thanks, all of ya for takin' the time to chime in.
Even though. Like the person above me, FoolMonty, says, sometimes ♥♥♥♥ just goes bad, especially in DayZ, so I've learnt ya just gotta move on. I will definitely make use of the stuff I've learnt here though, especially WOBO's info boards and such - there's... so much. I'll totally look out for salmonella and cholera in my next runs - even if this probably was a bit more than that. I can't lie, I'm still firmly confident it was a cheater causing this, but, ah well... Perhaps I overreacted a bit on the starting thread. It is just a game after all.
So, once more, thanks for the help, all of ya! Hope all ya have a good one.

If it happens again in the future, try staying a distance away from your friend .. you might have been giving the illness back and forth between yourselves. This might have created a situation the game code could not resolve with 2 individual players both trying to heal, but both making the other ill at the same time.
