How do I survive in this game? Any tips?
while it was night in this game, I managed to go to the bathroom, cook myself a meal, I was kicked out of the server and I managed to log back in, but in the end it was the same pitch-black darkness, it was just like a fog covered the world, and while I was in AFK, no one even killed me, I guess, That it's not just freshies that suffer from the night. I don't even know how much hours this night goes, even google can't answer that, it says just random numbers. at the very beginning of the game, they don't give me anything useful at all, it would be better if instead of a chemical light with which I can see a little further than my nose, they would give me a lighter with which I would see almost nothing at all, but if I could light a fire, you only have bandages at the beginning... No food... no water, let alone water, there's not even a bottle in which dirty water could be collected, it's not known where I am at all, there's not even a map in this game, well, at least I didn't find it, no, I don't need a sign where I know exactly my position, I need this is a real map, every time I play, crazy zombies just give me a bang in a crowd, as a result, I catch AIDS from it... and no, I can continue to survive and find a cure for AIDS, but when my health is less than 1hp... it recovers so slowly, as if they just spit on my face, which is why I still have to commit su!cide with pretty solid things. What kind of cheating is in the game? you will spawn in an open field, how do you know where to run and how in three minutes you have already become the king of the server? how the ♥♥♥♥ did it happen that I killed one freshie, and while I was butchering his corpse, he came running and killed me from behind? And yes! It was him, he was swearing at me in Voice chat, and when he was behind my back, he muttered something in the same voice, am I the only one? or is everyone already used to such suffering?

And yes, that's not just my yapping, I really wanna hear answers, like what the hell?! I bought that game for 70$

So, yeah, if you stay in the area you spawned after killing another freshie, they are likely to spawn right near you and be able to "take revenge" .. It's best, if you want to play a longer game, to get away from the spawn areas, move inland.

While you're moving inland (away from the coast), don't waste time looting for food. Look for melee weapons and/or bladed tools when there are sheds or garages to loot in. If you can't find a bladed tool/weapon, find 2 small stones (or 1 small stone and a boulder) and combined them to craft a stone knife.

Once you have a bladed tool, or a stone knife, start cutting up all the old clothes you come across that are not in better condition than the ones you wear. if you find better clothes, change clothes and cut up the old ones to make Rags. Rags can be crafted in to several other items of clothing that may be hard to find early game, like Gloves or a Face mask to stay warm. You can also combine 12 rags to make a Rope that you then combine with a long stick to make a fishing rod. With your Stone knife or bladed tool, you can scrape bark off trees, cut down bushes (components of a campfire to get heat buff and cook food), craft a wooden fishing hook, and dig up worms for bait, to catch fish for food.

NEVER eat with dirty hands. If you do not have gloves on when you cut up fish or animals, you MUST wash your hands before eating or drinking.

this reminds of my first time in DayZ...I spawned in at night, it was pitchblack and raining and I also thought "wtf"...
well, after having played more than 1000 hours I really miss that feeling of being utterly and completely lost :)
but survival is possible and all the tools you need can be found ingame,
you just have to apply some common sense.

the duration of nighttime is different on different servers because it can be set manually by the admin.
in general nights on 1pp servers are very dark while nights on 3pp servers are way brighter.
but I agree that nighttime isn't exactly the best time to log in for a freshie...you might get eaten by Zeds before you see them.

for your other questions I'd recommend to watch some tutorials on YT.

Short stick + tree bark = hand drill kit to start a fire.

Short stick (or is it long?!) + cloth (or fat) = torch to see a bit at night and also keep you a little warm.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The torrential rain and dark get old after awhile. Unless you have gear to compensate and/or wish to risk being shot at from god knows. Fire fighters and a lamp as an example.

I can only suggest having a 3rd Person only character and a First Person only one and swap between them.

and of course, do you have the patience for recovery, you have to stay on line in a fragile state for a long time until you can afford to take another swipe from the infected or pvp encounter. The find a hospital / medical and 'hope' it has what you need to speed recovery.

dude paid 40 bucks for a game and probably didnt even read the description or look at the trailer, just search youtube guides. Why does every freshie carry the need to be told that in their first time playing?
Watch loads of these for tips 👍

Well, probably your last neurons of brain is still active, so I'll say you that you are not normal guy, instead of accepting someone's help, you'd better do everything solo, well, good luck in life man, and yes, what's wrong in that I spend 70$ on game? Or how you said 40? Just wanna play something new and not boring
Don't play at night, log on another server
Ez fix
