How do I join a community server

I just got dayz and i booted it up but when i tried to join a vanilla community server i said somthing like the server is unreachable how do i fix this

Best way would be through the DayZ Launcher - just go there to "Servers" and search for the server you want. Then click join - if there are mods required the Launcher will tell you and when all of them are available on the workshop it will download them.

Will the mods work for just that server or other too?

If both server use the same mod it will work for both. If the second server requires additional mods you have to download them. But if they share mods - the launcher will give you the option "Load from Library" (or something like that).

The launcher will prompt you when you click “Join”. It will say “download and install all mods and dlc” or something like that. This will automatically download and setup the correct mods needed for that specific server.

You do this same process for any other server you want to join. The game needs to load a specific set of mods for each server, so trying to join a server when you’re already “in-game” at the main menu typically won’t work unless you’re playing the same server time after time and not swapping.
