Livonia free now? I have been in in hospital for a long while and just tired to play it!!!!!!

I have been in hospital for a very long while after a car accident, I am now functional and able to play games now so went to try Dayz with the Livonia map but only to find that it is free. I will no longer buy any DLC or such from this DEV as the least they could do id is give a free DLC to current players that bought the previous maps.

If you check my account you may see that I have nearly all Arma & Dayz games, the most recent is thanks to my son, but I am no longer buying any DayZ maps or Arma 3rd party maps.

Serious cringe. Would you rather get no further value out of Livonia because servers weren't populated for it or would you rather get further value.

I pay for the exclusivity of something. Giving away stuff I own is another and not something I appreciate. If you do that, I expect compensation. This is not a game like WoW where the DLCs add up on top of a monthly sub; there is zero reason to give maps away. "Further value"... I am fine with Sakhal as it is, as it means fewer tourists and hackers who can't be bothered.
My base has been up for almost two weeks, and I suspect it has a lot to do with that.
This is kind of like people who go to expensive groceries to avoid Walmart people.

There is no bad take. People do what they want with their money. I think being fine with throwing your money away without compensation is a bad take. Actually, it is; throwing your money by the window is a very bad idea.
You should not do that or engage in activities that make you do that.

At the end of the day, I love Sakhal, but I'll keep my negative review until they compensate me for Livonia, and if they ever give Sakhal away, I will boycott BI, and idc if it doesn't bother them. I will do it out of principle.

ROFL what? You don't own ANYTHING, you buy a license and when stuff is ''given'' to another player it's not your stuff, it's theirs.

I am fairly certain I own the new DLC, which is why I can play it, as opposed to people who don't. Now, that would indeed change if they were to give it away, and that's a problem.

Go look at the reviews for the soundtrack they "gave" us. The most upvoted comments pretty much repeat what I say and most of the reviews are negative.
Feel free to deny that and minimize how all these people feel.

You sound like a decent person but I honestly cannot understand your mindset on this. First of all, what do you even mean for paying something for the exclusivity? You pay for a brand new map to play on. Why would you even bring exclusitivy in? It is not like you get bragging rights to the plebs that play on Cherrnarus.

Same goes for your later comments on throwing money out of the window. Dude it was max 13 euro for a map that got released 5 years ago! I mean, are you also demanding for a compensation when you buy a game and two days later it goes on a 50% sale? No, right? Then why would you when it goes free for obvious reasons?

Besides that, there literally only pro's for making the DLC free:

- Higher server pop for Livonia servers
- Less community divide due to keeping only one map a paid DLC
- Livonia was only 13 euro, even just 10 on a sale
- Livonia is already out for five years

Only downside is when you bought a few months before it goes free. Tought luck, but I understand those complains.

And it is sad that you go with some childish review bombing on a decent map, even though you say to love it.
