Is this game PVP or Survival?

Hi,

I'vs been eyeing this game for some time now, and have a few questions for the paople who actualy play the game.

I've seen videos and read about the game but couldnt figure out this.

Is this game focused on the survival aspect or PVP(shoot people in the face, rob them,get shot and die... repeat..) ?

If I buy this game can I just avoid the hot areas(and all the PVP) and just try to scavenge and survive?

I know there is always the possibility of facing some guy, I just dont want that to be the main aspect of it.

and yes you can avoid pvp, 1st person servers will filter out 90-95% of the CoD Kiddys.

This project, as its not a complete game yet, is what you make of it .... if you want to PVP go to the towns and hot areas, if you want to stay out if it, plenty of room to do so, get the initial crafting tools and you can survive without ever entering a town, just fishing, farming and hunting. Make all your clothes from animal hide, weapons from trees and feathers!! what makes it so unique.

its a total survival game with a lot of pvp /pve assetts you play as you want to play be it survival or pvp theres no rules
they both go hand in hand
i play just exploring the map and keep away from contact with other players as much as possible as in the main they either shoot on sight or rob you but in any event i enjoy all the aspects of this game.
bare in mind the early access part it can be off putting if your not aware of this but in the main its a very enjoyable game and you will do even better with a friend to play with and watch your back

Mmmm... I think I got it....

Avoid towns and open areas, just fish and make clothes from animals, and if I ever see anyone that didnt notice me yet, I shoot him in the face and rob is stuff.

Nah its so much more, until you actually get a chance to play it ... its almost impossible to explain to people how this game makes you feel both excited to find a decent backpack, only to be terrified as you see a group of 4 people making there way over to where you are .... do you hide? run? then of course there are the infected.

I just said that because all the videos I saw on youtube, have shown me that all the people that we meet, 90% are hostile.

But that is why I came here to ask your opinion about the game.Maybe I got the wrong impression.

i did the same watched loads of vids but there is more to dayz than KOS but its what you want to do that counts make no mistake theres loads of KOS on here but you have to have the frame of mind that theres no save game on dayz once your dead your dead lol

Just one last quetion, on average how fast people usualy die in DAYZ?

Because once you die, you lose all your stuff. And I dont feel like dying every 30min.

My longest was about 2 weeks between wipes ... but this was when i was messing about with the hunting and survival crafting and didnt bother with looting so much. Shortest .... 30 seconds? spawn dead by the infected! haha

Ok thank you all, a week seems pretty good to me once I got the hang of it.

I think i'll get DAYZ on a Daily deal.
