Where to find magazines to guns?

Any tips on finding magazines? Ammo and guns are strangely abundant, but finding an actual magazine to a gun has been an issue since this game launched. Real frustrating. Any tips?

...but there's no warranty of finding anything. Others could have been there before you, the new loot system is constantly being updated/worked on, and then there is server reboots which shouldn't affect the loot but does for the moment if im correct

not sure if that helps, but thanks all the same. with the new loot system I have found somewhere between 15 - 25 guns, and 0 magazines. This is extremely screwy.

I don't use weapons that have Mags any more, tbh. I like using the Winchester Model 70, what with the Hunting Scope, Improvised Suppressor, and an abundance of .308 ammo.

For pistols, I use either the .357 Magnum, or, just lately, I have started using a Sawn Off Mosin, since it takes up the same amount of inventory space as a Pistol, and is a good deal more powerful than most pistols, there is even a chance of being able to find a stripper clip for it also.

It's not just that to be honest Sapper, I just can't be bothered to look for the Mags anymore. Besides which, you can tell if an Automatic weapon is loaded or not and being able to chamber 1 round, I don't think is really very useful for them. With a magless weapon however, you don't know if they are loaded, or not, until you see the "you are dead" screen, and all you have to find for them really, is the ammo, and then your good to go.

What gun magazine are you looking for? For AKM, AK74, Makarov and FNX45 these guard houses are excellent sources of magazines for them and other military loot.

There are several of them in cities such as Bereznino and Chernogorsk.

Guardhouses are a great source for mags for the guns mentioned bij cheeseking.. also the destroyed humvees spawn mags for guns (AKM, AK74, FNX, Makarov, SVD (found only 1), SKS fastload clips etc.

And then there is the heli spawns which spawn the Nato guns and mags (AUG rifle & STANAG mags, havent found the M4 yet) but everybody loots the heli spawns so good luck finding that.

Also the destroyed tanks founded around the map spawn a fair amount of guns and clips. AK101 and clips are nowhere to be found in my searches around Chernarus, nor any grenades.
