Does anyone know when it will come to Official and whether or not we will have a wipe on Sahkal?

I haven't seen any official confirmation on those. The latest EXP update happened just this week, so the release probably won’t be very soon. There also doesn’t seem to be much that would warrant a wipe.

Keep an eye on Dayz twitter, that were they announce the latest info usually.

There will be no wipe on official servers. For community servers, it depends on the admins. Typically, the time between the experimental release and the official release is between 2 and 6 weeks. Since the update is very small, the time until the official release won’t be long.

I dunno about the dl size but I'd call it a major update since it changes a lot of things profoundly.

I expect them to wipe Sahkal as the content in this patch leans heavily towards Sahkal as far as i can see.
Plan for the worst but hope for the best...

I hope that's ironic. Tbh i don't know anyone who was waiting for some sound changes for a long time (what sound overhaul do you mean actually? In the patch notes it just said about some gun sound changes) and i also was never reading that. Most people wait for a better AI, better building/raiding system and most important: Things, they took from us but never gave back like the transit bus or the bow.

Funny. They said that there will be no wipe first. Now there will be a wipe?
I'm pretty sure they said they couldn't confirm if there would be a wipe or not on a dev stream, then some people automatically took it as a no wipe.

there was a high demand from people to adjust the sound of footsteps for example. for a long time. it was easier to hear some stomach grumbling from another player than the actual noise of footsteps from someone running towards u with heavy boots on. that clearly wasnt right. they did some changes now - so thats a good thing i would guess? it took ages, now it finally happened.

heres the part of the patchnotes u commented on but didnt read:

- Reworked SMG weapons sound
- Improved cooking sound effects system indicating "done," "in progress," and "cooking without ingredients"
- The sound of the wind when driving the boat is only audible to the boat driver
- Improved footstep sounds for some building interiors
- Improved trigger zones to ensure consistent soundtrack playback in specific areas
- Foot steps sounds changed with the aim of making running enemy more audible than the one carefully approaching
- Boat sounds reduced from close ranges and increase on long distance

theres some other sound fixes in general and some audio additions for sakhal.

everyone wants all this things. best in an instant. but this changes are probably WAY more complex than adjusting some sounds. they already failed to work on the infected a.i. 2 years ago.

they actually said in their 2nd experimental stream that there will be no wipe.
but who cares really.
