Any PVE-server that you would recommend?

Haven't played this game in years. And I need to get an understanding of the game before I jump into PVP.

If you have a half decent PC, you could setup a LAN server ... Most popular PVE servers are going to be highly-modded, and not give you the vanilla experience it sounds like you seek.

To get a server setup, go to the Steam Library and on the top left, where it says "games" click to open the drop down menu and select "tools" .. scroll down the list to "DayZ Server" and install .. then head over to YouTube and check out Scalespeeder Gaming's channel for some tutorials and sample files for editing your ServerDZ.cfg and creating your ServerStart.bat files.

no but i can recommend NOT playing veteran zone servers. i stumbled upon them a while back and i really liked them cos they had all the good maps like namalsk, deerisle, banov, all PVE. it was very surprising to me how their servers were all empty for how good they were... very nice up time, barely any lag and very minimal mods.

i played their namalsk server for a couple days until i got permabanned without any warning.. i was the only one on the server too! apparently an admin was watching me and as soon as i did something wrong, they banned me for it. apparently i stumbled upon someone's base and i was just looking around it, not touching any loot or anything.. and then a yellow message says my name and text ''fiddling with a base that isn't your is perma'' okay i left the base and said my bad it wont happen again, couple mins later boom perma'd.

little tip for you guys if any veteran zone admin reads this..
how about a warning? maybe 3 strikes? perma is so brutal.
i bet half the people you ban don't even know why they've been banned.

Server called NEO Farmers. Full PvE with zero mods. Totally vanilla.... the ONLY thing you can do is spawn in your vehicle.

One of the VERY few vanilla PvE servers...

Or I can direct you to a server where you can make pizza out of all the meat you can find.. make canned meat, Make sausages... raise pigs.. raise chickens for eggs, ride horses... bring a dog with you. Hunt the elusive White Stag and Golden Doe... uh.... mine precious ores... go fishing for all kinds of fish, fresh and salt water. Grow the wacky tobacky... make digital key cards for the vaults. You can find blue prints and find materials to build cars and trucks.... might be missing something here...

I just joined it thinking it was cuz the description says so and i got sniped by a player 10 seconds after spawning....

Someone breaking the rules, does not make the rules not-exist .. Join their Discord, and submit a ticket, report the "rule breaker".

If you like bitterrot try "Bitterroot Winter season" currently running the winter MOD. Its wiping in April and changing the season to Spring / Summer.

Servers are Live now. 1.27 has caused a lot of strain on server owners. all is good now

HeroZ is a very nice PVE server. It has Deer Isle, Sakhal & of course Chernarus. The Admin who runs this server seems very nice & friendly, but is often times exhausted from having to work with the frequent bugs, which is understandable.

I built a base on each map, have played on it and I enjoy it, but it has a low population. I guess other than that it's okay.

For pure PVE and no PVP at all? There is no question - its The Factory.
Used to be Cake Factory which was the most complex and best modded server-chain in dayz history - even had its own system called unity which allowed you to bring vehicles (and their inventory) between maps. (They hosted about 12 servers with ~6 different maps)

Cake Factory shut down last month - owner just decided he'd had enough and some personal life issues - but the admins from that server setup The Factory. Its 2 servers right now, and theyre bringing Cake Factory PVE back, and done a great job of it.

None of the other suggestions here come even close.
The Factory / Cake Factory are literally the definition of DayZ PVE servers.
(I'm more a pvp player but it was so good I even played 2 seasons on the old cake servers!)

Old Guys Gaming Survival of the Fittest Adventure PVE.

Has AI and pvp zones but the community is really small and everybody only plays pve.

Custom areas, the server owner put in 1000s of hours of work on it. You have to see his green mountain and burned out Novo, it’s really cool. Modded but no ridiculous mods that break the vanilla feel. Small but friendly group of regulars. Just recently wiped.
