shared ban list and why its a stupid thing

soo most community servers seems to share ban list through companion which means that if you get a ban on that list you're instantly banned from over 200 community servers and cant play on any server that shares the companion ban list which in my opinion is an idiotic thing for example lets say someone was banned on a server years ago for whatever reason that ban will remain even if they have not played for years and not only that but a ban on the companion list is permanent unless the appeal is granted meaning that if the appeal is denied then you're locked out of over 200 servers which is just a**hole design and sure the shared list might assist with keeping cheaters and whatnot from the community servers with the shared list but who's to say those cheaters wont just move to the official servers and make those servers hell too and also to keep someone perma banned for something they did years ago? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grow up companion people

well the point still stands a shared ban list is BS and perma ban on such a list which causes instant bans on 200+ community servers? yeah sure whats next? like seriously if a ban was placed on someone years ago it shouldn't remain for years later and for anyone who thinks otherwise or think servers should have shared ban list/allow perma ban on a shared list i've got just one thing to say get help

The answers in your question, they are community servers, therefore the server owner can decide how they run it, and whether to be on a shared list.
Always free to set up your own server if you like, and not be listed on a shared ban.

I am all for the Shared Ban list. There should be NO second chances when it comes to cheating, or even just someone having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude. NO ONE wants to encounter either types of people in game.

I am going on 7k hours and not ONCE have I been temp/full banned from any server. I have never even had an argument with some one in game..... besides.. server owners/admins have the power to remove the unwanted players and it is totally up to them if they share your id.

Ya saw it to many times.. some one wants to be a Numpty on some server... they would get banned and just hop onto another random server to continue being a Numpty, Shared ban list stops those Numpty's.

Except that bans are not always for cheating, in fact I can't remember the last time anyone on my server was banned for actual cheating, it's usually exploits, boosting into bases in PVE areas etc, leaving landmines next to peoples vehicles in PVE, damaging parked vehicles, leaving junk at the garage/vehicle spawn area at the trader, or other trolling stuff..... Oh and there was a time where tents could have the door damaged, rendering the contents inaccessible.

Really pleased to hear the community has coordinated a shared ban list.

You are not entitled to play on someone elses game server my dude, its their money, their server.

If you have an argument as to why you feel entitled to access to other peoples things - I'm honestly interested in hearing it.

That's what I meant about the Numpty's... the idiots, the toxic people who do all the stuff you described. So its not just cheaters but the toxic people the can find them selves on the Ban list, I wouldn't want any of these people on my server either.

ya and those servers that use the ban list use it for a reason. it is not like it is default or added without the serverowner/admin without knowing. they add it for a reason. now just what was this "reason" the OP were put on the ban list to begin with? something tells me it was deserved and they are unhappy they are still being punished for something they did a long time ago, well maybe next time they will think about that before they do something to find themselves banned again from some other server or game. to the OP, use your brain fella.

It's not a matter of "What rule they broke" on a particular server .. It IS the fact that they "broke a server rule", period.

From the standpoint of a server owner, I do not want someone on my servers who is willing to break another server's rules, because the player thinks it's a dumb rule. Maybe my rules are different, but if that same player decides my rules are dumb, they will just as likely break a totally different rule .. It's not the Rule that was broken, but the PLAYER who is willing to break the rules.
