Experimental Update
"Adding to the intensity of your survival struggles, you can now hear your character’s teeth chattering while they’re cold."

What the hell is wrong with you? Do you know how many of these sounds a character makes when playing?

Sound while vaulting
freezing sound when cold / Never ending when it rains and you want to move from town to town

sound while drinking from a bottle
sneazing sound when sick
sound when you have a fever
grumbling stomach sound while hungry
dehydrating sound when too thirsty
holding breath sound when aiming down sights

To add insult to injury, the character does involontarely arm animation when sick or cold which sometimes is a pain because I have to press the button for an action twice because the animation interupted the action I wanted to make. ALL OF THIS WHILE THE ZOMBIES ARE STILL OBNOXIOUS TO DEAL WITH.

AND NOW YOU EVEN WANT TO IMPLEMENT TEETH CHATTERING WHEN THEY'RE COLD?? WHAT THE F IS THE PURPOSE WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE A SOUNDEFFECT FOR BEING COLD??

ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED, OTHER PLAYERS CAN HEAR. SO HOW THE f will I be able to survive an encounter of another player when all of this is playing at the same time? IT EVEN OVERWHELMS THE FOOTSTEP SOUND THAT I WANT TO HEAR FROM OTHER PLAYER APPROACHING IF AND WHEN IM IN A FIGHT!

WHAT THE F YOU HAVE LEARNED WITHIN THE MAKING OF THESE TEN YEARS OF THE GAME.

OH AND BY THE WAY, DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN ZOMBIES USED TO CLIP THROUGH WALLS WAAAAY BACK IN 62 STANDALONE? WELL YOU'RE IN FOR A TREAT, NO MORE WILL THE ZOMBIES ENTER HOUSES THROUGH DOORS, BUT RATHER GO UP IN THE AIR AND WHILE YOU ALREADY HAVE CLOSED THE DOORS THEY WILL REAPPEAR AGAIN BEFORE YOU COULD SAY DEAR "HOLY GHOST, GRANT ME THREE WISHES", GOING TROUGH WALLS LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYZ! YEAH, IM LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE NEXT XP/ PATCH! IT IS FINALLY "FIXED"!

Are the other players not equally disadvantaged?

IMO if you go running around in the rain, getting slapped about by zeds and you get sick, that's on you, run out of food, that's on you. If anything it stops the game being a COD zombie clone and evens things out for people who do play strategically.
The only problem I do see, is if end game players are coming down with their high end gear and camping out in Cherno/Elektro/Berezino, but teeth chattering is hardly going to make any difference at all to that.

I wish there was some sort of way to disable the sounds because the HUD does a good enough job letting you know of every single status effect you could be suffering from

While I don't agree with OP's statement regarding it obstructing other audio, I do find it ridiculous to add another pointless sound effect to the game when the existing ones already bother me

any noise indicator is good in the game. not everyone plays with a HUD.

Maybe not, but why exactly was there a need for a second sound effect to signify you're cold other than to be able to say they're adding stuff into the game?

All of the sound effects bother me (especially the thirsty sound effect), so I'd love nothing more than to be able to turn them off, so hearing they're adding another is a disappointment to me. I don't need to hear my stomach grumble or my character shiver every 15 seconds to get the message that I'm hungry/cold, but apparently the game thinks I do and will constantly remind me of it

The shivering sound indicates light blue state and chattering indicates dark blue losing health state. I understand your frustration with the infected but actually there is a reason as etwas said it's for no hud play.

If the sound effects weren't so frequent, I wouldn't care anywhere near as much, but hearing my character smack his lips every 15 seconds when I get thirsty is more annoying to me than any other sound effect in the game
