DayZ
Vomiting until the soul runs out of the body
I play this game a lot, but what annoys me the most is that every time I play for about 30 to 40 minutes I start throwing up.

Everything is fine, healthy, drink enough, eat enough, haven't cut themselves without gloves and so on... so the whole character is fine and suddenly he's throwing up his guts out.

WTF, how can you still enjoy something like this after the damn Covid. Can't the manufacturer simulate this better when it shows cold or when you come out of the water? Aren't there reasons that make it clear what and why my character is sick before they completely shut him down on the server?

I don't mind that this feature is there, but sometimes I think that if the servers already have a difficulty level, then it would be superfluous in the current sense. What do you think?
The symptoms of illness could be improved, right?

Are you sure it isn't cholera? You get it via drinking from water that you find on the ground, and not fully emptying the bottle and refilling it with a *clean* water source from a well.
No, you get this bottle as starting gear and on the other servers you always take the water treatment medication.
That's why I'm writing this. I have 3700 hours in Dayz, not the first time I've played it.

That's an issue you need to take up on the servers discord.
There is probably some kind of mod that mods sickness.
The server admins are the only ones that can help.

If that's really the case, then you're the first to be honest.
Everyone else on the servers always says: "That's just how the game works, we can't influence it."
The question is whether the admin can influence this live? I mean online directly on players with admin tools?

With mods, admins can definitely do whatever they want with your character. In the base game you simply don't just start vomiting, unless you do something wrong. Maybe the water the bottle you're given is infected?
Yes, but diseases aren't mods, are they?
They're part of the DayZ standard?
The servers I visited usually had very few to no players online with around 30 - 60 slots.
Should I assume that an admin is playing a trick on me?
Or is the server badly configured?
That would be the reason why there are few to no players on 5 of the servers I tested.
And if the water bottle was already contaminated beforehand, then I should have been sick for the first few minutes.
Mods can add new diseases or change how the standard ones work. And if they give you water contaminated with cholera, it takes about 30 minutes to hit you after drinking.

I suspect you're just doing something wrong. Eating with bloody hands, eating raw/rotten/burnt meat/fat/guts, drinking water from something else than a well, drinking gasoline, eating wolf or bear etc

No, as described above, I don't make these mistakes, I know them all too well XD
But I didn't know that the mods affected this. Well, good to know, thank you

no, please read what I wrote at the beginning, I don't just play for 2 hours and I know a lot but this has happened to me recently, in the last 10 days. That's why the thread

sounds like a server thing.
u dont just start vomiting for no reason.

try a true vanilla server and see if u can reproduce the issue.

Vanilla Official Server I have no such problems strangely
It's odd that even after 3700 hours you still think spontaneously vomiting your guts out is a standard feature, and be surprised that mods can actually change every single aspect of the game.
I have never experienced this before and I often play with mods. But until 10 days ago this had never happened anywhere. Now I will be careful when I go on a server again. Whether it is because of the good admin or the mods - I have no idea but I am happy to be surprised.

We all make mistakes from time to time regardless
of the hours we have ingame. If you rush something
or are under pressure it's easy to mess up something small
and silly and not notice until it's too late.
we ALL do it.
From example, i was drying my wet clothing after a bit of a swim.
I heard someone walking around outside the house i was in.
Everything was dry 'cept my boots. Leaving them and my bag on the floor
i went for a look. It was a hostile player who took a shot.
I only had an IJ a with no mag so i cut back, grabbed my bag and
lit out of there.. Completely forgetting my boots.
I died soon after wondering why i was bleeding from 5 cuts...
