Cant join modded servers

The first server I joined after downloading the game was a modded server called BattleGroundZ, server IP 179.9.28.77. This server did something to my PC and I cannot find the file. I have uninstalled DayZ twice now, and whenever i allow mods, it auto-connects me to this damn server no matter what I do. I cannot play any different server unless I turn off mods. I need help BADLY. I have tried everything, deleting the local profile folders, uninstalling, and I cannot figure out how the hell I can delete the character. The worst part is, there is AT LEAST 30 other people having the same issue as me, as the queue is always 35 people. I can play on the server, but I get killed as soon as I join, and the wait time is ridiculous. I might have to wipe my pc to get this damned script out of my operating system. I have tried choosing servers at the launcher page, I have tried making new characters, and it always reloads the same damn character, with the same loot on them, every time I launch.

Im having exactly the same issue, even after uninstalling the MODS

What error codes are you getting?
Are you using regular Dayz launcher or DZAlauncher?
Are you selecting run current mod selection or Setup mods?
If you die are you selecting custom character or random character?

What do you mean by:

Same characters on same server? different server?
How are you selecting new servers?

Having the exact same issue, dozens of people are. Every single server on the community list has the same IP after I joined battlegroundz and now no matter what server i select I always am redirected BattleGroundZ. I unloaded all mods, unsubscribed from all mods, cleared steam cache, reinstalled dayz, deleted every folder i could possibly find related to dayz and installed again. nothing works

Same issue here, but mine is stuck on a server called skyfall. It's unplayable

Unfortunately i have found that there are malicious mods being uploaded onto the workshop, once downloaded these mods will force you to connect to the same server each time or they will flood your server list with 10000's of different named servers but all with the same IP, they ultimately all join you to the exact same server.

I have not found a way around this. all i did was find which mod was causing it and removed it. DayZ is back to working correctly now for me.

Also if you do figure out which mod it is PLEASE report the mod and also the steam profile, so that it stops these Trolls.

I reset my PC twice, launchers still off, my girlfriend had the same issue & found a temporary fix but it ended up swapping server, she gave me this list:


1. Unsubscribe and delete all mods
2. Clear Launcher history
3. Remove Config Files
4. Delete the game, and ensure all files are discarded from your PC
5. EMPTY RECYCLE BIN BEFORE NEW INSTALL.
6. Complete new install, and download new mods.
